Shinji phails at new trends... he still uses the tape player!
I hated those joints, I broke the one on my 01 a few days after I got it. The rubber undid pretty much all dramatic poses with the arms

The models are pretty good, neck:hinge, head on ball joint, thighs:ball, hip:ball, ankle:ball, shoulder:ball, knees:hinge, jaw:hinge, toes:hinge, abdomen:ball, the elbows are ball joints inside but the rubber only lets them hinge, and the rubber will flex back to help undo any pose over 45 degrees. The hands are ball jointed, too

The HG Eva models are very articulated, but they're also just that; models. They're light, require paint to look right, and wont stand up to your everyday toy abuse. Also there's the whole "you have to put them together yourself" bit. They are, however, quite big, standing at roughly 8 or so inches. I'm going from memory as my HG Evas are all at home along with my Kaiyodo evas.

Seriously, just get a Revoltech Eva already. They're likely the biggest bang for the cheapest buck.

For those of you who can't wait to see the movie, here's a fan made CGI video of Operation Yashima, featuring EVAs 00 and 01 vs a very transformer-y angel Ramiel, based on the scene from the film. Talk about an upgrade. They really went all out to make Ramiel a real threat.

Just got the SOC Tamashii Spec XS-03 EVA-01 figure today. Excellent figure.

I'm not going to do a review or put up pics since I don't have a camera but if you like the Revoltech EVAs, you will LOVE the SOC Spec. Arguably the best version of an EVA in plastic (and die-cast). I'm eagerly awaiting the EVA-00 figure coming next month and the others which will come eventually.

Sorry, but I'm not really in the mood to write up a review but if there are any questions about the SPEC EVA or any of the Revoltech ones then I'll do my best to answer them.

    Oh ok, no problem :D

But I do have a question about the Revoltech Eva Unit 01 (New Movie ver.),
My question is that on the knife/sword he has there is this Yellow thingy that goes on it right? how does it attach? ty.

There's a little slit at the back of the yellow piece that fits snugly on the tip of the prog knife.

It's supposed to be the sparks when EVA-01 uses it to stab/saw thru an Angel's core.
