I started Ghosts today. The opening scene was impressive until I heard the destruction was caused by satellites. IW should try to be original with their storyline even if they have to try so hard to be original, it becomes obvious. I dunno why they took out the objective compass. Judging by the mission where you control the dog, I bet there will be some non fps missions, which I hate.
Did it have one of those moments where the audio is muted/lowered and becomes unclear? I hate those, its so damn cliche.
I'm actually excited for the huge maps, since they had to bring back the power to the assault rifles.
I beat the campaign last night...loved it, although the end was strange...gonna try Extinction later today!
I'm excited for the bigger maps too, it was so easy for the game to spawn enemies on top of you in BO2...
Started online mode like usual. Played few games...all the cod has this bullet lag issue. A guy kills me with one shot and on my kill cam, he shoots me numerous times as I stand there. I don't get it
That's what is known as latency and lag compensation caused since you're playing with people with horrible/distant connections. I'm assuming the game uses Peer2Peer connections, which can make the issue a lot worse depending on who the host is for the game. Basically the game has the update its general state to all players at certain intervals but has to estimate where other people will be until the game can check via the update packets sent when playing online. On his machine he tagged you first before your game received the packets telling it that some guy is shooting you, so when you finally get them you've already been killed as far as both your games are concerned.
I suppose another gun gripe I have about Ghosts is that the Honey Badger isn't suppressed without....getting the suppressor. I don't know what part of "integral suppressor" Infinity Ward doesn't get. It's reload animation is also pretty bad. The operator turns the weapon to the side and the magazine magically flies out...I have experience in weapons of that kind, and magazines don't eject like that! lol! I know it's just a game but I just think it's funny when it's clear devs don't know a damn thing about guns.
Looks like Redbox only has the MP disc (Disc 1) available, which is fine by me. So I may end up renting the game tomorrow for the rest of the week.
I knew I should've just rented (held) the game yesterday even though I had to wake up early today. Redbox was out of stock when I checked again last night. Woke up, checked email, class was cancelled and decided to put in 14 miles to pick up the game instead of a 1/4 mile had I just gotten it yesterday. Anyways, game on.
I like the new weapons in the game. The SA is my favorite. It's still hard to know how you're suppose to be fighting in the campaign because friends and foes both wear camo. It's not like multiplayer where your team's names are displayed above their heads at all times regardless of whether or not you're a good guy or bad guy.
Just finished the campaign and once again Infinity Ward delivers the goods. It's action packed with good variety and a lot of fun.
