Okay just kinda wondering why cade-an inventor-was able to match against a captain of the autobot killer team like Savoy? and he even manage to kill him as well. Moreover, he was able to use an alien sword gun perfectly and shoot it with great precision after a few second of figuring how to fire it? He was able to hold a fight with lockdown for a while as well. And if you look closely Cade's markmanship was "supreme" enough to shoot Lockdown's gun out of his hand
He's the main character. That means the movie has to bend itself over to give Mark Wahlberg purpose in the movie even if it makes no sense.
because he's Mark fucking Whalberg. Did you question Witwicky's ability to kill Starscream in the last movie? No! of course not, because that guy had stupid luck AND he's an asshole.
If you didn't notice, he was rather in shape; it's not surprising he could do well in a close quarters fight. As for the gun, he's from Texas. He probably had experience with rifles before, so it's not a terrible stretch. Helps that it was the perfect size. Makes you really wonder who it was originally made for. Some human-sized species?
Or Frenzy, Alice, etc. Forgot for a moment that Transformers can come in all shapes and sizes, including very small. EDIT - woops I quoted you just after you edited your post
Because nothing happens unless Cade says it happens. That seems to be the man's philosophy: "Our house is not going to be foreclosed." "My daughter is going to be a vestal virgin for the rest of her life." "I'm paying for no dorky driver's jacked car." "A reward is nothing compared to me using alien technology to make money on."
The alien-gun thing was easy. All of his shots were like 25-50m away, and he wasn't firing rapidly. He wasn't engaging targets 300m out with it. He got some lucky shots, but his targets were pretty big...lol. He didn't display any especially impressive marksmanship, and when he was firing at smaller moving targets he missed like half his shots (the wolves). As for the fight, he was clearly much much stronger than Savoy (Wahlberg is a freaking huge guy, muscular wise) and he was unbelievably hyped up on adrenaline and protecting his family. For people who've ever been in a fight, those two things are actually really important...adrenaline and strength. That, and he used his environment to his advantage. We really had nothing to indicate that Savoy was skilled at anything but being a thug - pulling a gun on a 17 year old girl and generally using large weapons against the Autobots. I've attended plenty of Army Combatives tournaments and seen highly trained Army Rangers get schooled by some random private who wrestled in highschool. It happens.
It's just kind weird, Savoy is a well trained soldier, a captain and he couldn't defeat cade? and he's only an inventor, not a fighter like Savoy. And the way he improvise against lockdown was too excellent for just an engineer
It is possible that weapon had an auto target lock. When the other one was dropped it still hit a target. If he worked with different kinds of tech all his life , he would have figured out that weapon pretty fast.
Well, I'm a Captain in the Army. It doesn't automatically make you a bad-ass. Savoy was pretty decent with his handgun, but I promise...even the best trained hand-to-hand military guy can be taken out. Savoy's mistake was not taking the fight to the ground (which is what all the military hand to hand training teaches you to do...take the opponent to the ground, and start breaking joints). He was an idiot and went toe-to-toe standing up against a bigger guy, because he was angry and not thinking.
See the end of the above post by Ring3r. A higher level of training doesn't always mean you'll win a fight, especially when your opponent is very fit and fighting with his and his family's life on the line. edit- ninja'd And inventor/engineer isn't a body type or anything. Given his physique Cade clearly does stuff besides sit at a desk tinkering.
I guess we can just sit and wonder, probably a coincidence. Transformers movies are filled with them, personally I find that this movie has more of them.
It's probably all that football he played. We saw he could bean a guy wi a football on two separate occasions, and football Is one of the main reasons to even be in Texas, aside from firebrand Religious zealotry.
Cade is younger, stronger, and in far better shape. Savoy might know more about combat, but I don't think Cade gave him any opportunities to apply those skills.
It is not as prevalent as most people make it out to be. It is generally a private thing with most people.
