Decided to revisit an old BW Custom from years ago using a spare Generations Rattrap. Very minor changes to the mold. Gun had to be replaced since it didn't have the original, went for the tailpipe gun from a ROTF motorcycle, refitted with a Christmas plastic bulb holder. - a Red and Green bulb to swap modes from Field Medic to Frontline Artillery, both store in the hind section of the backpack very coincidentally. - The shoulders had Crosses carved into them to fit Ratchet's G1 motif, which this was aiming for. - Since the beast mode would have been a white blob, I decided to very lightly blackwash the fur and then paint a scattered black streak down the center of the rat. - Used an exacto knife to re-trace the panel lines in the legs and painted them with black paint to make them stand out more.Thought about doing it to the whole thing, but the white basecoat came out thick and it made it too much work to keep re-tracing everything.
Before the show, I kinda wondered if rattrap was supposed to be a BW Ratchet cuz of the name. Boy was I way off lol
Looks cool! Shame Ratchet didn't live long enough to make it to the Beast Wars era. Very nice job with the white paint!
While I absolutely despise Hasbro G1-ifying everything, I'm totally fine seeing fan takes on G1 characters being made from other figures, like turning Rattrap into Ratchet like this. The colors work quite well too, him looking like a lab rat is perfect.
