Since it seems like we're in the age of Hasbro finally repainting Studio Series figures, I thought it'd be quaint to create a thread where we could discuss ideas of current SS figures that'd we'd like to see repainted or have color schemes invoked by their older counterparts. Here's some that I'd like to see.

First off we have Ironhide. A character in the SS line that(in my opinion) is beyond thirsty for a repaint or something. My personal favorite want for a repaint from the SS figure would be something reminiscent of Recon Ironhide from back in the old ROTF days. I doubt he'd have all of the glorious accessories but still it's one it think could would greatly.



Next up I'd like to see is a G1 deco. This is another one that I feel would be great in the Buzzworthy line. G1 sells right? I think this one would fit perfectly in today's Buzzworthy line especially since it's known to have colorful repaints like this.



Lastly for Ironhide is something I feel would be the most logical and obvious one they'd do. The simple NEST deco from the voyager ROTF toy. I mean come on, right? Need I say much more?



Next up will be my favorite character Jazz. There's two in particular that I feel are quite obvious. The first being the G1 deco of the 07 DLX toy. This one is my personal preference for being in the Buzz line since I think it'd work on the SS figure well if done right although I do feel like it'd be more of a Selects type toy instead.



As mush as I'd like the G1 deco the black translucent DOTM repaint of Jazz would definitely be the more logical choice. This theme was made for the Buzzworthy NEST line. They could literally just copy and paste this deco and it wouldn't be a problem for me.



I'm gonna try and wrap this up now because I don't wanna make this too long but I will do some honorable mentions of who else I'd like to see.

The first honorable mention would be Nebular Starscream


2nd honorable mention is Specialist Ratchet



3rd honorable mention is Gathering at the Nemesis Soundwave.



So now the question lies with you all. Which SS figure would you like to see get the Buzzworthy NEST treatment?

 

I could get behind some G1-colors Bayverse molds. But I'd rather they make a better SS Ironhide mold, that one has some issues, it's just not a great toy. Ratchet and Jazz are OK, those digibashes are appealing. I'm really surprised there hasn't been a G1 colors ROTF Devastator repaint; Devil Savior did one and it was legit.

I guess they could do some wild battle packs with redecoes in mind. Here's some ideas i had.

-Bumblebee (SS ROTF Mold, Colors based on his Daredevil Team colors) VS Fugitive Wasp (AOE Stinger redeco with colors based on Animated Wasp.)

-Smokescreen (SS Hot Rod retool with colors based heavily on ROTF Smokescreen) VS Dead End (SS Sideways retool, based on Rotf Deluxe Dead End)

-Jolt (SS Mold, but using his DOTM toy colors.) VS Darksteel (SS Rotf Sideswipe retool, Based on the DOTM character of the same name.)

-Big Daddy/Daddy-o (Car Dropkick Redeco based on the Movie 1 cybertron Downshift redeco of the same name.) Vs "Patrol" Barricade (SS Barricade redeco based on the Allspark Power redeco.)

 

I want a N.E.S.T. The Fallen. Just to try to see how Hasbro would try to make it make sense.

Nice, for a G1 Ironhide I'd like the red to be a darker shade and not bright red.

Love the movie Ironhide and I think the SS mold is damn great so I'd probably be in for that.

Couldn't really think of any as of now but some off the top of my head:
- SS Bee in Allspark power colors - reverse yellow and black version.
- Maybe a G1 repaint for Prime but that would basically be the figure as is but no flames and a silver stripe probably.
- SS Jeep Bee into a BBM styled Hound
- Helicopter Dropkick repaint into a new character maybe
- Car Dropkick in black (maybe Vehicon like head)

 

i'd be down for a NEST style redeco of the rotf arcee triplets.

Fallen- "Hello, I am..uhh...Nellafeht, the new recruit."

Optimus- *Squints* "We..weren't expecting new recruits at least until February, and hmm..you look like someone I just saw on TV.."

Fallen- *Panics* "W-what!? Nah, your mind is probably tricking you, I look nothing like the Fallen!"

Optimus- "...How do you already know who the Fallen is?"

Fallen- "Uhh...I saw it on TV?"

Optimus- *Pulls out armblades*

Fallen- *Violently gets decapitated*

 

I can't imagine how The Fallen could possibly fool anyone but it'd fucking hilarious considering they've done Bonecrusher.

Oh my God I've been wanting a Stealth Bumble from the SS49 mold for so damn long. I hinesdo think we'll get it though at some point.

I could've sworn they were those colors on the arcade game though

I'm surprised we haven't gotten a N.E.S.T Ironhide yet, we literally had one during the ROTF toyline.

And I'll be honest I actually want to see a redeco of Car Soundwave as Soundblaster, in same deco as the Movie Advanced Series toy.

 

I think with Ironhide at least they wanna milk the shit outta him in multipacks as much as possible before they ever release him again in any singular form.

 

N.E.S.T. ROTF Devastator?? Since there are no other movieverse combiners to redeco...

 

I don't think an all black Devastator would sell tbh...
