Weird this is Wal*Mart exclusive but this also means availability is going to be a hot mess despite a lot of Wal*Marts have so much vacant space.

 

I love this and need it as soon as possible. Kinda wish Bumblebee had some black racing stripes on his vehicle mode to make him stand out from Hubcap, and I'm guessing Hasbro has some sort of rights issue with either Volkswagen, Walmart, or both over rereleasing the Bug retool.

Fangry is the one I'm most confused about. While I'm glad we're getting a proper Fangry update, it's kinda weird that this set is the one he appears in. Of all the possible characters that could have been included, I find it strange that Fangry is the one they settled on, rather than a repaint and/or retool of another Earthrise or Siege figure.

 

I've heard that apparently Volkswagon has some sort of problem with their brand being associated with war or evil characters. Of course, I imagine the whole emissions scandal from about a year back did far more lasting damage to their "brand" than giving out a license to a toy company to represent one of their flagship heroic characters ever could, but what do I know?

 

Blackarachnia is a whatever, Nemesis Primal is pretty rad since he's got a toy-inspired head, Fangry is an unexpected inclusion, and I never could find the Netflix Bumblebee in my local Walmart, so I accept this as compensation.

I’ll buy the fangry off you if you get the set. I’m not interested in any of the others.

 

I wish they put in all 3 decepticon headmaster juniors along with some spare bumblebee. That would have been the perfect set. Primal and BA are easy throw aways for me.

 

The beasts in the set are growing on me. But Bumblebee is going straight in the Dunce Corner with SS86 Wheelie & Daniel. The least Hasbro could do is slap a Classics Bumblebee deco on it.

 

I could easily see Squeezeplay as a repugnus remold.... just replace the monster head and claws, give him the right headmaster, and BAM!

Not sure what mold could be used for Horri-Bull though...

 

That fangry is just beautiful! The only reason for buying this set!

 

clearly you don't know anything, emissions scandals aren't THAT bad i mean what's gonna happen, we're gonna build 90% of the civilized world on the foundation of these impractical things that speed up the heat death of everything on the planet? nah the toys are the issue.

Please, please everyone, I'm begging you, I'm on my hands and knees right now so please! Stop suggesting Squeezplay from Repugnus, it's far from a decent mold choice for him. Don't give Hasbro the idea, or validate any ideas they have of it!

Okay, half joking aside, I just don't really see it working. Squeezplay should have the robot legs to beast arms to me, and we have the rumor of the Autobot HM Jr's getting new molds next year, so why not Squeezplay and Horri-bull?

Fangry at least turned out pretty damn good as a grotesque retool, but I just do not see the other two getting away with the same technique.

I wonder how long it'll take a 3rd party company to put out a gun for Fangry...

I too learned to love the easily lit fuse in a werewolf-vampire skin that is Fangry thanks to Andrew Wildman. His organic faces might be strange on robots, but worked wonders to give great expressions to Fangry.
