I manged to get $20 for the BW duo. This makes the 2 g1 guys about $30 each for me. A bit more than a deluxe ($27 after taxes) but not $40 each terrible.

 

That's not a bad at all... If you figure shipping/Gas.

 

I bought 3 creatures collide boxset. 2 for me and 1 for a good friend. I really like it. It’s a fantastic assortment. I love the colors on the BW figures and nice to finally get a G1 Goldbug as well as G1 Ransack. The alt-heads is what made me love the Creatures collide boxset and Hasbro needs to do more alt-heads like Marvel Legends.

 

I am not looking forward that over the next 4 years the only way I'm going to be able to collect the deluxe insecticons is going to be through $75+ packs with possibly up to 3 other figures I don't want. Got really lucky with this one having Goldbug and an awesome looking Scorponok and Skywasp wasn't bad either seeing how I'm a Seeker fan.

 

Meanwhile I'm going to try selling off the 2 BW figures (no interest at all) and am still trying to track down Fangry from the first set.

 

I have accepted that I'm not going to make my money back from flogging the multi-pack stuff that I don't want, but I have been able to shift (most of) them to help offset a little the cost of the ones I do want. For example, I recently shifted the Maximal Skywarp that came with Kingdom Sideswipe. Knocked the cost of Sideswipe down from AUD $77 to AUD $56 (the cost of a deluxe on a retail shelf here at the same time was $29-$35, depending on where you shopped). Similarly, Ransack has come down from AUD $86 to AUD $70 (by shifting Predacon Scorponock, and as a single deluxe on a retail shelf this week would go for $35-$40).

True, I'm not able to move them at their "proper" price of around $40 plus postage, but I can move them for $25 including postage (which is $9 or $12 depending on size and mass). And at this point, it is either shift them for whatever they will go for, or throw them in the rubbish (and Skywasp may get there yet...). Not buying Goldbug and Ransack was not an option, and neither of them were going to be found separately (because they're the ones everyone wants). It sucks, but there's no point arguing with it because that's just how it is.

One final thing - buying the multi-packs and flogging the unwanted stuff still isn't as expensive as buying Fangry singly from the US when it looked like the first 4-pack wasn't coming here at all - that little sucker cost AUD $114! - and boy did it sting a little earlier this year when Amazon AU had that 4-pack on sale for AUD $87 all up...  

 

I'd just like to give a heartfelt shoutout to member Skreeonk for pointing me to a Goldbug seller whose secondary market price after negotiation still left me with some dignity. Gotta love helpful community members.

It was really bugging me that Ransack looked a little too much like Kickback, so I ended up switching the arms around and rotating the torso and I think this end up working way better than it should. Now he's got a little section where I could paint his yellow abdomen if I so choose and even has a port for some kind of hypothetical add on kit for a toy accurate chest.

 

Ha! I ended up doing the same thing a couple weeks ago when I was messing with mine.
I'm hoping for a 3rd party to make a proper G1 abdomen piece for his alt mode, but even more so I wish he had different wings with articulation.

Ha! That's why that was in there! I'm going to buy another Kickback when I can to use it. Hasbro going the Matty route, those bastards.

 

They probably wanted to do a toy version Kickback, but the head was the only difference. Also, the Ransack mold worked for the Kickback head colors. Rather than toss the head parts they assembled and painted them into the free toy version head.

 

I made a crappy Photoshop on how an upgrade piece on Ransack could look like.

 

I still have a set of the bugs for sale or trade.
