    In short:

    • Can you buy IDW comics on ComiXology?
    • How do you buy comics on ComiXology?
So I have ComiXology-powered apps for Marvel and Image and they work very well, able to buy and download comics directly through through the app and also read them panel by panel. The IDW app is okay enough (and does halve prices after a month) but not as high quality.

The general ComiXology app is baffling and I can't work out how to buy comics. I gather it's possible to get IDW through it, but... how?

    Yes to both questions.

From the comiXology app's home page, hit the three dots in the top right, select 'Search', enter what you're looking for.

Once you've found the issue you're after, tap the teal box with the price to add it to the cart. That button will become a 'View Cart' button, which of course you can tap to go through to your shopping cart and pay.

It's usually easier to buy comics on Comixology's website, then download them on the app, rather than searching them on the app itself. You don't even need to do it on desktop the mobile site works fine for it. By the way are you using the comixology app or the Transformers comic app, because most of us stopped using the latter when it switched to livefyre or whatever. I'd show off how many issues on comixology I've picked up (About 200) but can't at the moment, wouldn't get them all in one shot. :D

Cheers both. Problem was / is that I guess the UK version of the app is different to the US one or something, because there's no button to buy comics at all, just a wishlist. However, it was still possible to buy through the website and also set up a subscription for Lost Light. I guess that Comixology won't halve the prices after a month, but on the other hand it was 50p cheaper in the first place, and I've been buying MTMTE on release day ever since I caught up with it. Good times!

Are you using ios or android? iOS won't have an option to buy in the app due to Apple expecting a percentage of sales from in app purchases

Afaik you can't even subscribe to a series via the app. I had to sub to lost light and op via the website.

I use the app to read my comics (Android) but do most of my searching and buying on the site. Easier to sort.

Then there's shit like revolution one shots which each have a new category. Yeesh.

Yeah that annoys me that I've got a bunch of one-shots in my gallery instead of having them as special issues in certain series. (Like The Holiday Special and Combiner Hunters)

But one thing that really annoyed me about comixology, at least in regards to the iOS app. Now as far as I'm concerned this hasn't happened to any other issue, but RID 28 on comixology, when you read that on the guided view, for some reason it skips the conversation that Cosmos tries to have with Prowl, and skips right to Starscream walking up to them. I knew something was missing, and could only read that page without the guided view, but it is damn well ironic that when Cosmos starts to go on about how no one listens to him, not even comixology wants to listen to the poor guy. Thankfully that's the only issue I know that has that sort of glitch, but it left me paranoid during the rest of my reread. XD

Just a little heads up, there are two certain issues on comixology you can get for free anytime. Get Spotlight: Shockwave and All Hail Megatron #1. Spotlight: Shockwave for the quality story, and All Hail Megatron #1 for the nostalgia I guess. Finally when it comes to IDW comics, yes their comics are halved one month after they come out, releasing at £2.50 before being lowered to £1.50, although I think buying them at the higher price supports the series better, but I'm glad the price is lowered for those catching up on the previous issues. That's much better than Marvel who take ages to lower their prices like that.

iOS. Which makes sense... except the Marvel, DC and Image Comixology apps all allow in-app purchases... does this come out of the publishers' profits in those cases? I guess maybe. Ah well, it's nice to have panel-by-panel browsing back.

If its any help, im in UK, but use android - Ive never had a problem with thr comixology app, and get all my comicx through it these days, as its far easier than pretty much any other option Ive got.
