How can you pay? Using the Paypal or Credit Card from US?
What about any experience with purchasing toyworld products through taobao? For example, toyworld constructors? Anyone?
An error I came across with Pre order using deposits is to make sure international forwarding isn't selected.
You can't confirm delivery so the seller never receives the deposit
When creating a Taobao account, you're taken through the Alipay sign up process. Have your credit card & passport handy.
Sorry I should have mentioned earlier that I'm after Stomp X not the regular. Fairly sure the reissue only applies to regular Stomp. But thanks for the heads up anyway .
Who was the seller? Do you have a link?
Is there any way of knowing what shipping will be upfront? If not is it ok to cancel if you are not happy with the shipping charge?
Seems like the shipping charge for a FT dino is $20-$22.
Is taobao available in English? Seems like a missed opportunity if it isn't.
It's a Chinese website, but a lot of middleman have it do an auto-translation (I think it just uses google to be honest).
If they offered it in English like Aliexpress I would think they could make more cash... I guess they don't want to deal with all the shipping issues...
It looks like I got the last one.

There's a faq page for how shipping from the warehouse is charged. It think it starts from some base amount then increases if the package is over a certain weight. 5kg, I think, but I need to look it up again.
You are able to cancel and "return to sender". I used to think that the warehouse tells you the condition of the package before they send it overseas. They normally indicate that the packages is good, but nothing more detailed than that. $20-22 is what I've paid for each dibot. Will be interesting to see how much they charge me for skyfire! I decided not to get jaguar this go round, since I've been spending a bit much on TFs lately. Maybe the next time a must have figure comes out, I'll try adding him.
Cool when you find the info on the shipping calculation please let us know. Thanks.
This isn't exactly what I saw before, but it gives the same information.
The deposit is automatically released to the seller after 10 days, regardless of whether you manually confirm the delivery or not.
The preorder process on taobao seems tricky to me. I've decided to avoid it. It doesn't seem necessary with the number of sellers there. It shouldn't be a problem to get a figure once it releases without doing a preorder.
Sorry, i mean any payment made via alipay, not specifically deposits.
Yea, generally speaking you don't need to preorder as there are usually quite a few sellers available. It can get confusing when a seller doesn't notify you when an item is in stock and you stumble across it yourself, only to find that the listed price doesn't seem to take into account the fact that you've already paid a deposit, which means you'd have submit the order, withhold the payment, and contact the seller to change the item price for you before you actually pay.
world.taobao.com has a google translate plugin on the page if you're not using chrome.
Some listings don't make much sense, but with a bit of word play and common sense you can figure it out.
Weird, not in my experience. Without a domestic shipping notice, my deposits have never been released via Alipay. Same goes for paying extra charge's. Buying X amount of a 1RMB "Non commodity" (as google translate calls it)
wont work with international forwarder selected.
I was under the assumption that the seller has marked the item as shipped, which they can still do even with international forwarder selected. I have mmc's calidus on preorder using the forwarder address, and the deposit did go through. Only problem is that on the shipment conslidation side there will be an open, dangling order for the deposit paid, waiting for a non-existent shipment. You can remove the order manually afterwards tho.
But you're right in the sense that this creates unnecessary hassle in managing your taobao preorder, so you're better off just using your actual address anyway.
In any case, like i said previously it's not really a must to preorder something on taobao, not unless you're comfortable to deal with the sellers in mandarin.
I copied this exchange over from the China Ebay Seller Check thread
Anyone buy from this seller before? I'm getting reeeeeeal close to buying a Cyberjaw and Bigbite from them (might even triple-dip for an Ironshell). I'm not sure if I'm following the rules of checking what looks like a good seller.
I've never bought from this seller before, but looks fine to me. Go for it!
