    1st version

I dont know about the "high quality version" but i ordered the 1st version, the one with 2 of the same bot for arms and I'm pretty impressed with him. I can shake the shit out of him and nothing falls off. He needs some customizing to be good, but for the money it's excellent raw material if you plan to leave him in devy mode.

CROSS POST from KO Toy Thread:

Rage kit WILL work with v2 KO Herc. Connects to "Hook" fine. Nice and snug and allows a nice solid rotation.

The issue is the connection to the arms. With the simplified connector there is extra plastic in there that keeps the normal TFC connector from inserting (the KO male port has a slit in it allowing it to compress which is why it fits). I trimmed away a little plastic but still almost snapped my wrist trying to insert it. That said, the connector itself is solid, no stress marks anywhere… but it's going to take a little work to get it fully seated. Sadly, I don't have the time right now to break out out the Dremel and do a proper job so I'm not going to just hack away at 'til it fits for the sake of proof-of-concept

But it WILL work, just not straight out of the packaging.

    Overall:

There is quite a lot of simplification going on and some of the joints are loose (always the hips on gestalts!), but for $60 I'm quite pleased. I have 3 of the 6 TFC robots (two arms and one leg), so once I have time I'll do a full write up and pics.

    You mean "Want List?"

That's just to see if he can locate something for you. Generally he's pretty quick getting back, at least with me.

I wouldn't let this one time ruin it for you, but your call.

According to tracking my Hercules KO just arrived at a relative's house. Off to get it today. This is how long Taobaoring and the cheapest shipping took. Shipped from China on February 7th, got here on April 2nd.

I think it's funny that there is a KO of a 3rd Party of a real product that has it's own fair share of KOS.

These guys have started appearing in the local fruit/toy shops in my neighbourhood here in Shanghai. Here are some photos of the individual packaging. Interesting how all the figures are labelled as 'Dr Crank'. The company lifted the text from the TFC packaging without knowing the English translation.

Asking price is ~CNY45 (USD7.30) each. I would have picked up a set but this particular shop only had three of the six available.

Interesting that the hips and a leg are the ones that come with the hands.

I never did get around to doing a full review on these…

So I ended up picking up a set. I was wrong about the price. Retail price in China is ~USD20 for all six bots, delivery included.

This should help set your expectation when comparing it to Hercules.

The bots all do indeed transform and combine. I would say it's certainly Hercules inspired, but definitely not a 1:1 copy. No metal pins, reinforment or ratchety joints here. Just glorious plastic tabs and plastic ball cups. Hands are all single piece (no movement) and some parts-forming required. In combined form, mine doesn't stand upright - Long Haul's legs are on some very loose plastic ball joints. The head has one gimmick - a light up red LED.

So it's not Hercules but at USD20, I wouldn't expect that. Is it going on display as part of my collection? No. But as a toy for a child, it's great.

    - Six figures which transform and join to make a giant destruction wielding robot? Check.
    - Giant plastic tabs which can withstand the abuse of an inpatient child? Check.
    - Care factor zero when my daughter pulls it apart and disperses it around the house? Check.

I think it's supposed to be. A few pages back someone posted that version 2 fits the Rage kit. Some of the differences include lack of hand articulation, ratchets, etc.

I personally think something this size really needs to have ratchets.

Version 2 does have ratchets, I don't know the size of the standard Hercules but the version 2 ko stands a bit taller than combiner wars combiners
