Hey all. I finally decided to try some 3D work, and I downloaded Sketchup. I've been goofing around with Google Sketchup for the last three days and this is what I've come up with. I'm still having trouble uploading it to Shapeways, but hopefully I can get it figured out eventually.
Nice work! I don't know if it matters to shapeways but some of your faces (the blue ones) are reversed - just right click on them and 'reverse face' I know this can cause problems with rendering so maybe shapeways is the same?
Just followed a few of the tutorials and goofed around with the program for a couple of hours. The shame of it all is I can't get them to upload to Shapeways. Thanks! That tip worked great, but still no luck with Shapeways.
I like where this is going! I'm guessing Cyberverse accessories? Also, why Butterfly Knife? It doesn't really resemble one, or am I missing something?
Thanks...and you might be right about that whole Cyberverse thing. What most people think of as a Butterfly Knife is actually called a Balisong. An actual pair of Butterfly knives is much bigger. Here's a pic!
Oooohhh. Killy-stabby goodness! Okay, I like the design even better now! Looks like I'll be messing with Sketchup this weekend...
You might want to give this program a try. I hear it's free and natively exports STLs for upload to Shapeways, but I haven't used it myself.
