no it was 40 million domestic, which IO think it will double that. Bumblebee doesn't open until January 8th I think, If Aquaman made $90 million there, Bumblebee will make $200 million easily at opening, China loves transformers, also with the great reviews it's getting

Depends on you expections, if. Your expecting number from the peak of the Bay era, then yes it’ll be a flop. If we expect just under TLK numbers then it’ll be a solid hit, and something Paramount can move forward with. Aquaman, Poppins, and Spiderverse will all eat it Bee, and eat others lunch, but I think the film will do ok.

One thing that will most likely help this movie is that it have John Cena and Hailey Seinfeld And some fans of them will probably want to see the movie just cause they are fans of them.

It would be really ironic if this movie flops.

If the questions are passive aggressive. You want the movie to do well. Fine. We'll see what happens.

Saw Spiderverse, Aquaman and Bumblebee this week. Even if I wasn't a Transformers fan, I'd say Bumblebee is the best of the three. It was a bit slow in parts. My 7 year old nephew asked me at one point if it was nearly over as he was bored. Still, I found it far more enjoyable than the Bay movies and the forced, childish humour of the sequels. Don't get me wrong, all the Baymovies had their good points and for the people who loved them, good for them. I found the 07 movie genuinely funny and funnier than most modern comedies.

I came out of Aquaman unsure if I liked it or not. I didn't hate it but it was lacking. Some of the cgi and acting just felt off to me.

Spider-Man was good but kind of generic. I know it had a stylised aesthetic but Kingpin's proportions were just ridiculous.

Anyway, whether the film flops or not, who cares? The franchise will get a revival at some point. I'm sure somefans want it to fail for it's connections to the Bayverse and others for the G1 references but I say forget about those immature attitudes. Watch it for yourself. If you still don't like it, fair enough but if you do, then that's great. And whether it's the Bay movie or G1 ties that do it for you, it doesn't matter. The people on both sides who deride the other aren't worth listening to.

We're fans of the franchise for our own reasons, not anyone else's, nor should we be. In the words of Optimus Prime, "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!"

I saw Bumblebee this afternoon and I'm definitely going again tomorrow:)

Saw the sneak peek yesterday. The woman sitting besides me doesn't like it either. She said that the movie has too many plots (maybe she hasn't watched TLK, lol). Aquaman just feel too campy at some points, while everything about Bumblebee just feels right. Definitely watch again at December 19th.

Some users here already suspect it tho. While it could be the best Transformers movie critically, the audience is still not convinced enough to give it another try. Thanks to TLK

I didn’t go watch The Last Knight either. I was getting seriously bored of Michael Bay’s style of “more explosions = more epic” storytelling. I didn’t care for anybody in Age Of Extinction and when I tried watching TLK on TV, I didn’t care to finish watching.

Bumblebee was a nice little movie who didn’t try to be powerful, grand or epic. It was definitely another kid and their fantastic friend story, but after the others that’s basically what we needed to take a well earned breather.

  Dude, do you even Transform bro? o_O :p

Well, they spent less than 100 mil to make Bee. It's a conservative investment by the movie studio considering the previous five films they spent like 250 million a movie on average. The studio knows to be cautious and the movie is basically the Force Awakens to Star Wars as Bumblebee is to Transformers. Everyone will love it.

Mary Poppins will be the flop. I promise you that.

Don't mean I hate the movie, but I don't see any similarities with Force Awakens

They are going with a safe-proven-movie-formula and did everything to make it a like-able movie that appeals the everyone/the masses (and not spending much money either).

They undid Michael Bay and did not Zach Snyder the franchise in their choice with Travis Knight. They JJ Abram'ed it.

I saw an early screening and it's damn good.

I agree Bumblebee's fantastic. Saw the sneak peek. But the question is: is it gonna be appealing for general audiences? Because actually, Force Awakens is not that appealing to me because I'm not a Star Wars fan

You know, is it bad that I saw just the title for this thread at first and thought, "sevenlima..."?
