https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2197157856965589 We can now use Bumblebee stickers in facebook messenger.
Dear God! The shitty direction this franchise is headed. And I seem to BEE the only one that can see it. A violent war between massive machines of destruction is now a Care Bears spin off. Coming soon! Bedtime Bumblebee & Braveheart Optimus Prime. Somebody just shoot me!
Oh no, a children's franchise about robots that turn into cars is making a sticker pack. Clearly, our super serious gritty war franchise is reduced to nothing more than a plot to sell toys and merchandise. No one's ever going to take this franchise seriously again! The horror, the horror!!
These look fun. I hope they make them for Facebook too like power rangers did. It's always been more than that since G1. You really need to lay off the hyperbole and ignorance. The war was only the catalyst that brought them to our world because of Decepticons attacking the Ark in G1. The reasons behind the war, Optimus pushing for freedom, Megatron pushing might makes right fascism. And how that began with Orion Pax as literally a storage warehouse clerk/dock worker. It's always been about a struggle out from under oppression and the directions/growth of their alien race as a whole. So no, they aren't "war machines" nor is it about "a violent war between massive machines", it's about universality of "humanity" and character growth. Which is what we're seeing in Bumblebee's movie. (See "Secret of Omega Supreme" and it's full talk of brainwashing, propaganda, and losing friends, etc. That's a human nature and complexity piece, not directly tied to war. It's scifi and metaphors done wonderful to comment on life and moral lessons. It's essentially "Star Trek" with giant robots.) And I love my transforming Bumblebee plushie. So hush. Adults are talking about kids toys.
Yeah, remember that ultra-violent scene in G1 where Optimus Prime plays basketball? Or the one where Seaspray becomes a mermaid? This franchise is a joke now, they've ripped out all the gritty realism it used to have.
Outside of the edgelord, ridiculously stupid purple-robot-blood comic books where everyone's so far up their own ass they're having last night's dinner, when has the franchise ever truly been an earnest depiction of a violent war? Every show or series has fallen into downright lunacy in regards to humour and lightheartedness, even the ones people revere as the "darkest and most serious" ones. TFA had hokey human villains and an episode where they went camping, BW had copious Loony Toons-style visual humour, and even the comics have become downright silly at time. Remember when the character in your avatar literally became a toy in a throwaway gag in a comic where they rode robot ponies into battle? And you're complaining about unrelated promotional material for the movie, not even the movie itself? That's like complaining that they make toys of it so it must be ruined, because toys are for babies and not adults who want gritty war-drama in their cartoons about robots turning into tape decks and cars. Jesus Christ, man. Get some perspective.
I know I'm old but my brain won't stop screaming that they aren't stickers. Stickers are, well... they're stickers. I don't know what else to call em either so I guess I'll just go back to minding my own business?
