Wow, thanks! That's going to be a huge help!

Some of them, but there were at least a few more. "Higher Love" and "Don't You Forget About Me" were used.

Nice, also a GREAT track from Duran Duran. I like that it's not one of the usual go-to's.

For the most part, this movie seemed to be very careful to use songs that existed in 1987 or earlier. The latest song so far is from August 1987, so I think it's fair to assume that's when the movie takes place.

Except for "It Takes Two", which was released in 1988. However, that song samples from Lyn Collins' "Think About It", which was release in the '70s. I'm beginning to think that "It Takes Two" wasn't actually in the movie after all...

(Obviously there's also Hailee Steinfeld's Back to Life, from 2018, but that's sort of a different case.).

Yeah it's been confirmed that it takes place in 1987, so that's why the songs used aren't newer than that. Which is good, because nothing is worse than movies/shows set in specific times only to have music getting used that came out later.

    It's not in the movie.

I added the songs from the "Retro Rock" figures in a separate category. Obviously they're parody names, so I'm just linking to the real-life songs. I'm not sure what a couple are referencing, so feel free to let me know.

Rob Base "it takes two" ???
I appreciate that they tossed hip hop fans a bone, but that song came out in 1988. The tansformers franchise was on life support in 1988. They should have either went for Run DMC if they wanted a true mid-1980s vibe to represent what hip hop was heavy on the radio in 1984-1986.

Our first soundtrack release since Dark of the Moon. Hopefully this gets a physical release. Digital is pointless since you could already buy all the songs.

This is a pretty great lineup. It reminds me of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and of course The Best Decade TM.

Awesome that we're getting an album! I can't wait to hear the full '80s remix of "Back To Life", I thought it sounded a lot more fitting than the regular version.

Although that's definitely not all the songs in the movie. I'm curious why they chose what they did. Without a full list and the context of each song, it's hard to know. Some of the songs were just snippets that Bee uses to talk, so maybe they're only including songs that were played for a significant amount of time...

I just got back from seeing the movie (won\'t post any spoilers, don\'t worry), and I absolutely loved, loved, loved the soundtrack. If and when I find a physical CD of it, I will certainly be purchasing it.

Jimmy Fallon was holding what looked to be a record jacket when he introduced Hailee Steinfeld a couple days ago. Hopefully that means physical releases are coming

Don't count on it. All he (and the other talk show hosts) normally does is hold up a blown-up 12" image of album covers that looks like a vinyl release. 95% of the time it's just a display piece put on cardboard for the camera.

I hope we get a physical release, just for the people that want one. Personally, I hate CDs, so I'll be recording these onto a cassette tape myself from digital files. I probably won't be going by the official track listing though, I'm going to wait and finish the complete list.
