Errr wait, hold on...what? Bumblebee is called Bumblebee because he's black and yellow like the insect. There's nothing more than that.

 

yeah, I don't get that. Bumblebee was called Bumblebee in G1 because he was yellow and black, and small, and a BUG. An obvious reference to the animal in question. MovieBumblebee is also yellow and black and while not super small, has those little wings.

 

A more G1 inspired moviesverse Starscream? Yes! Bring on the toys of this guy! Hopefully he's sporting an F-15 Eagle alt mode!

Has there been any hint of what Bumblebee looks like in Robot mode when he has a Beetle alt mode - One would guess not that different to his Camero modes - as each one of them and his WWII mode is all variations on a theme.

I think it's going to look a bit odd to see Bee with the Movie face and Beetle kibble.
I suspect all they have done here is recycle the 'Boy & his car' premise of Transformers 2007 and then gender swap the protagonist and raise the smaltz level a bit.

I'm not especially offended by Transformers Live Action Movies in a visual sense - any more than I am by Transformers Animated (which also looks pretty peculiar) I just compartmentalise them as their own thing in my mind.

Toywise I rather enjoy "some" of them - especially items made recently by KO makers and items made by Hasbro around 2010.
I certainly don't equate one Starscream with any other - other than in regard to some personality traits - The Transformers Prime Starscream is quite different too - and I think he's pretty terrific.

The HFTD Leader Starscream is I feel a pretty decent toy overall - if something existed like that but with an F-15 alt mode i'd be pretty interested even if the Hasbro on is tiny and it takes Weii Jiang or KBB to do it properly later on.

 

I know you don't really reply back but I have no idea how to visualize what you want to see.

 

I like the idea that this movie is shaping up to be a happy medium between G1 and the Bay-verse designs... kind of like we wanted the 2007 movie to be in the first place.

So much incorrectness here. Instead of rebutting, I'll point to AOEGalvatronRox's post below.

I do wish they would remember that there are good designs in other places besides G1 as well.

Again, I'd also love to see more influence from other designs in the franchise. If the reboot wasn't happening, I would've liked to have seen them introduce Red Alert as the new medic, have him turn into a First Responder truck, and design the robot mode to look like Armada Red Alert.

Because he's known to hate anything not G1. And some of these haters will stoop to making things up for their arguments (or just not doing research ever).

 

One other reason Bumblebee is still appropriate as a Camero as well as a VW Beetle is that "Bumblebee" is the name of the colour scheme that the 1974 Camero alt mode has on it.

Though if one asks how he could have possibly have been called Bumblebebee in World War 2 one is likely to get a headache.

 

I know, but I felt like clarifying before some poor kid actually fell for it and got hyped about it.

 

THIS! And not one of you can judge me for hoping we get an Optimus cameo as the G1 truck and more classic bot mode and figure!
