The G1 movie has a near equal Rotten Tomatos score to the first film though , and why are you still bitching about the designs after we just got confirmation Starscream's design , like Bee got tweeked to look more G1. BEE TURNS INTO A FRICKING VOLKSWAGEN AGAIN AND YOU ALL ARE STILL COMPLAINING! What the hell do you want then? In an actual film , the G1 designs would look clunky and fairly , very ill translatable to film. The one exception is IDW-G1 , which uses a Movie-aeshetic layered over by G1 shells , so if that is what you want then fine.
These designs are not going to cause the Rapture , there are worse films than Bayformers and this is my opinion so I expect to be linched for it by this rabid hellhole of a fandom

These reactions to the footage sound exactly like what I wanted to hear, so I'm definitely a bit excited. That said, it's always possible they may be mislead or just plain overhyp d, so I'll wait until I see the footage myself.

Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will have filmed it on their phone or something.

 

To be fair, I believe the mindset behind why the movie Transformers look the way they do is because there has to be sense of realism to how they are presented. Of course, Bay might had some of his own input with the designs. But it would have a big mistake IMO to completly carbon copy the G1 character models.

What Knight seems to have done differently is take the character models but tweak the designs a little bit more to balance out the realism and faithfulness.

You remember that wolverine film where Deadpool started out looking fantastic and by the end of the movie he had his mouth sown shut and baracka blades coming out of his hands, well this is like that except they put his costume back on....with his mouth sown shut and baracka blades still coming out of his hands.

I just get really frustrated when people still complain about the Bayformer Aesthetic as I call it and yet continue to complain even when they get what they wanted-in this case G1-Movie hybrids that are faithful to the original design yet it now works within the Bayverse

 

Things to keep in mind:

-Bumblebee as a name has nothing to do with the insect, something still lost in this "character development" movie
-A red and blue apescream is still not Starscream
-We all know how things go from here - 5 bad films.
-The characters can look real without looking totally and completely randomly different. They can actually look like the characters! Bumblebee with the big anime eyes is especially desperate and uncreative.

Do not support this - it may be a decent movie, but that won't make it TransFormers. Let's bury this mute Sunstreaker wannabe already and hope for something better the next time around.

Go ahead and lay your every little problem with Bayformees bare , except for story and explain why a movie with G1 designs that are 100 percent faithful to the design with so little variety it's sickening would work in the realistic setting of Bayformers

I’m gonna be honest, this is a very bad analogy. Deadpool has had a pretty consistent look/design ever since he was created. While there have probably been some changes here and there, he mostly looks roughly the same as he did when he was first created. That’s why this version of Deadpool was so awful. They deviated from that orignal look. Transformers, on the other hand, has seen many different iterations through movies, comic books, tv shows and video games. I mean, hell, there was a tv show where they transformed into freaking animals. Expecting Transformers to roughly have the same design as they did 34 years ago is a pretty ridiculous expectation to have at this point.

 

So was there any trailers?

Red body, blue legs, blue chest windows, blue helmet with a mouthplate? Yep, sounds like movie Prime too.
