I think the only way for the movies to still appeal to me would be to drop the whole current verse all together, and start over. Like, a complete start over.

Also, do something completely new, that isn't at all related to G1, or any of the previous cartoons. Do something completely new. It can still use the same characters, but write something new.

But, if it remains in this universe, it's just going to have the same problems as the other films, being that it has to fit in with the other films. I don't mean soft reboot or anything, I mean, full reboot. Go all the way, or don't bother.

Remember we are 8 movies in, with two animated, and 6 live action films. And, I've only loved one of them. The rest are movies that I could have lived the rest of my life without seeing, and been the same, either way.

Bumblebee is best Transformers movie. Travis Knight directed it not Michael Bay. Bumblebee was actually released with positive reviews and it's getting a sequel and Bumblebee is a new story telling universe aka the Bumblebee universe 9.4/10 certified fresh on rotten tomatoes at 91%

If this is the best they can do, then Hasbro might as well just give up.

And, no, even the fucking Beast Wars movie is better than this shit.

Are you saying Travis Knight is worst than Michael Bay? Are you saying Bumblebee didn't deserve the critical acclaim it received? Travis Knight happened to be a G1 fan why do you hate Bumblebee?

Is it better than the Michael Bay films? Yea, sure. But, that's a very low bar.

I don't know if it actually bored me. I did get 'fun' out of it. But, it really has nothing that stands out for me. I saw it on opening day, and it really didn't do anything all that impressive. I did like somethings here and there. I liked the Cybertron scene, as an example. Even if it did feel a lot like they're just jiggling keys in my face. Like, they're being condescending assholes. Going "Oh look, remember all this!"

In some ways I think it is a better movie than the Bay films, as it doesn't do all the crap piss humor, or doesn't put underage characters in sexual situations for the viewing 'pleasure' of the public viewing it. But, at the same time, it's being stuck in that same universe. Which is holding the entire franchise back.

But, it also does a lot of things that are just as bad, or worse. Which is mostly just all the 'nostalgia'. I'm glad that's all everyone else needed to make it 'great', but I need more then that. I'd much rather have something more like the Bay movies, where it's mostly an original story, not really based on the cartoons or anything, but it's own thing. With it's own version of these characters. And, then they throw in a little here and there that was like the cartoons, or comics. I would like the Bay movies a lot more, if it won't for the stupid humor, which I just don't find funny at all. More or less, I just find it annoying.

The thing that kept me into the Transformers Franchise, for so long, is that every couple years we would have a whole new version of Transformers, with all new versions of these characters. Or, heck, sometimes, just the characters in name only. We got stories surrounded by new gimmicks or plot devices or whatever. And, that is what made me really like this whole franchise.

And, now everything's about how 'G1' it is. Which has quite frankly drove me away. In that regard, I would gladly take the Bay films, over the Bumblebee films. If for nothing more, than the fact that it wasn't just 'G1' jiggling in my face, like Bumblebee is.

If I wanted to see the G1 characters, I'd just watch the cartoon. I don't need new versions of them.

You are GREATLY overestimating Bumblebee's critical reception. That 91% on Rotten Tomatoes is the result of the score system marking all reviews into good or bad regardless of whether the score was 10/10 or 6/10. The 7/10-ish number on Metacritic, IMDb, and RT's audience section reflect the film's ratings better.

I agree BB was good but that critic rating score is inaccurate/not accurate enough.

In between 6 to 7 out of 10, I'd say.

I pretty much agree completely. I hated the "humor" in the Bay movies. Weird thing, though, is when I saw RotF in the theater, the audience burst out laughing at pretty much every joke :(

The critic score is a measure of how many critics liked it, not how much they liked it. It's not saying the movie is 91% good. It's saying 91% of critics that saw the movie liked it more than they disliked it. Which completely makes sense, because it's a solid film that doesn't have much to hate in it.

It would be like if you gathered a group of 10 people, and gave them all a piece of chocolate. If all ten of them enjoyed the chocolate, it would get a 100% score. That doesn't mean the chocolate is the greatest thing ever, it just means none of them disliked it.

I can't get mad at them for that, being that humor is completely objective, and I can't get mad at them for having fun with the movie in which they paid for. I have no problem with an audience bursting out laughing at every joke. That's completely fine.

Yeah. I guess we have to acknowledge that even though we disliked that humor, it hit a homerun with the people it was aimed at.

Well, the last thing I want to do is berate or belittle people for enjoying things. I also, most certainly do not want to judge people on what they find funny either. It's not a person's fault they found a joke funny. It's not my fault I didn't. Or, you didn't.

It has nothing to do with how intelligent, or dumb the viewer is. It all has to do with the joker teller. It's their responsibility to make as many people as they can laugh at their jokes. If people find the joke funny, they find it funny. If they don't, they don't.

That's really all there is to it. And, I am glad people enjoyed this movie. I am glad 90 percent of critics had positive thoughts about it. I did, I think it's about a C movie, and if most of the others have the same results, that too, would equal a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. because it's all about how many liked it, vs didn't like it, right? And, a C is a person liking a movie. It's a movie in which does all the things the person wanted out of it, nothing more, and nothing less.

That is great. But, wow, if this is the best Transformers can do, should they just stop here now. If the best they can do is jiggle nostalgic keys in my face, and call that a movie, then, just... just stop. Just stop making these. lol

Now, if they want to come up with new ideas for these Transformers to do. New things these robots have yet to do, that would be great. But, if all you're going to do is remind me of the older stuff, all you're going to do is make me want to watch the older stuff instead.

And, just imagine all this older stuff jiggling in the faces of someone who has no idea what this older stuff is. Like a bunch of five year olds. Wow, must that suck.

if they’re going to do a full on reboot After the Optimus prime and megatron origins movie I would love to see a bumblebee movie focusing on his ptsd of the war and feeling guilty for letting people die or something like this fan film

As much as I love the movie I would really love a more transformers centered film

First of all, after watching Bumblebee and learning about the future of the movies, watching AOE and TLK was a waste of time knowing that their threads would never end.

leaving that aside, I will say the positive and negative points of the movie (this is totally subjective)

    pros:

    -Good character development
    -good script writing
-technical section quite well considering the budget
    -Shatter
-Pleasant to see as it does not have the peculiar humor of the films of Miguel Bahias
-I love the designs of certain characters
    -Shatter
    -Decepticons have more personality
-I can sympathize more with Bumblebee not being this time a psychopath who brutally kills his enemies even when they haven't done something wrong
    -SHATTER

    cons:
-Many things are ambiguous and are never resolved, especially around Blitzwing
-The Cybertron G1 designs are not very to my liking most (although I really like the one of the Seekers and Optimus, so much so that I have the Studio Series 38 and I plan to go for Blitzwing)
-I disliked Charlie's family a little (except Otis and Doggo)
-Watch Blitzwing, Shatter and Dropkick die broke my soul

    based and redpilled 10/10

One thing I find really clever, whether it was intentional or not, is that Bee's battle mask is a nod to the original G1 toy face/head.
