Ooh I might have to get Soundwave. Will he come with Ravage or would that be a seperate, smaller release? Now if only they would make Wheeljack and the other bots from the Cybertron scene... also making them model kits is a smart way around the alt mode problem for Soundwave and any of the others they produce.

Edit: I looked back through the thread and they are indeed making almost every character from the Cybertron scenes! Arcee, Brawn and Ravage and many of the Seekers are unaccounted for but they could be in another wave yet to be announced. At the very least that Wheeljack is sooo bought! Hopefully these are decent model kits.

These look about as posable as your average modern day TF and about as complex build-wise as an old HG/no-grade from Gundam.

Assuming these are priced accordingly, i.e. very inexpensive, I can live with that.

He was part of the initial placard display so he's definitely coming. (like Shatter he's only in his muscle car mode)

Trumpeter doesn't normally do snap builds or poseable kits like bandai, so I'm curious about how the models will be held together. Fixed pose, single color plastic, and cement requirement is my guess.

Yeah, if they're cheap I can forgive a lot. I'm certain the kit quality will be fine. It's just that build experience, parts fit, how the joints are designed, color separation...that's the stuff that'll make or break it for me.

They're not fix-posed, that we know. No only are they clearly jointed in the photos, Blizwing at least has enough articulation to go limp (lol) and the larger BB model had a diagram showcasing its flexibility as well as specifically calling out the high number of joints.

I do think they'll be single-colour or feature extremely basic parts-separation. Unless the grey paint has filled in 90% of the seams, there's no separate plastic pieces for most of these characters' surfaces. I do think they'll be snap-fit, however, simply because it's odd to make posable kits that require glue. You're just asking for trouble in that regard, and given Soundwave's legs, for example, are seemingly just two halves snapped together, needing to those would be kinda silly.

I built a lot of gundams back in the day, but I'd be so much more into a transformers model kit cause I care the most about transformers. I would have loved it if the DMK line hadn't died, because despite them being crappy in some ways (parts would fall off and have to be glued, Bee wasn't super well proportioned, aoe Prime needed some major upgrades) they were also awesome in some ways and also they were transformers.

Yeah i didn't notice the joints until after I posted. I only saw the pics on the front page of tfw. Ii'm not too confident on the joints of these kits being any good since trumpeter doesn't normally do moving kits.

If Hasbro isn\'t going to make a Studio Series version of that Soundwave design then I may consider picking up the model kit, because it looks great.
