The current score of 97% is the critics.
That's a given. To be more pedantic, film quality as described by aggregate critical sentiment. I find that I usually agree quite a bit with the Metacritic score for a film. Maybe because I am a critic.
Still, this movie needs to send a message to two people:
First, it needs good reviews and ratings to get people to see it and spread the word of the first good transformers movie.
And, secondly, the film needs to get a good box office run in order to send a message to the studio at Hasbro and Paramount that THIS is the type of movie we want, NOT Bayhem…
And if that does not happen, we may as well say welcome back to Micheal Bay and that Transformers 7 that was supposed to have Unicron...
Or even worse: the end of the movies outright. I hope the movie does well! And If the momentum keeps going the way it's going the outlook is at least a little optimistic!
Not happening. Paramount has very few tentpoles as is compared to Warner Bros., Universal, and Disney.
So, is it safe now to announce that Bumblebee is certified fresh at RT?
It's…not? But it will most likely be by the time we get to release date. Bumblebee (2018)
Is it not too early?
Nope. There are not enough reviews yet.
I believe it needs 80 reviews to get certified
33 reviews so far, 32 fresh, besides that one jerk that wants michael bay back, cant see the movie getting anymore negative reviews, unless the reviewer is trying for clickbait
6.5 on IMDb now
Wow. Transformers was higher, and Bumblebee will never reach the amount of votes that it has. On a whim, I looked at the RT audience score for comparison:
Average Rating: 4.1/5
User Ratings: 2,384,840"
Will be interesting to see what BB's is once it's fully released.
To ease it off, Bumblebee only has 171 IMDb votes. But even AoE if I remember correctly, debut with 7.0+ score with that amount of votes
Quite interesting indeed. Weirdly though, there are only 5 written reviews. This may be a stretch, but this may be also a result of voter manipulation from DC fans since anyone can vote on there. It's strange as it seemed like my theater really enjoyed the film. I mean, if people enjoyed AOE then this is a step up.
I thought they don't care with Transformers movies? Lol
a lot of trolls on IMDB downvoting on purpose
Not when a Transformers film has better ratings than a DC film and they open on the same day. Again, it's a stretch.
There are only 170 votes anyways so like RT, there isn't a high enough sample population yet.
On the upside. Bumblebee has an upward trend in trailer-recollection and is keeping its third place.

As much as I distrust RT now after the manipulation by Ghostbusters, I still trust fan votes even less.
