just sent payment as well
Sent Payment! Great work
awesome, payment sent!
Well just a quick update...
As good as the color looked I just wasn't happy honestly with the final... It was a tad too orangey in person. My wife said I was crazy but never the less I stripped back the paint on the first run and will be painting again tomorrow. Being 3-D printed parts I can't control the perfection level of detail or deviation in material... but I can control the matching of paint as best as possible... So stripped it and redoing! What a mess and lots of fun that was!
Since everyone loves pics... They all don't have to be pretty!
Anyway hope to have the bulk of painting done tomorrow on all orders that have been placed to date. Planning on being able to ship out everything by the end of this week. I'll keep everyone posted.
Ok so I'm happy w the paint match! This color is a tough one to get close!
Looks pretty dam close now.
I'm hoping everything will be cured dry by tomorrow. If so, orders will start shipping out then. I have the bulk of everyone covered I think up until yesterday's orders. I had the unexpected family pop in so won't be much progress for the next two days.
I have the next sets made and primered for orders coming in... They just need paint. So any new orders won't likely go out until this weekend just fyi
And for a couple of you rabid fans… (You know who you are… )We're making good progress as this project started four days ago from concept to model to 3-D test print to final painted product. So keep your shirts on! LOL
Just keeping you all up to date! Thanks again
That paint match looks perfect, nice job! I can't wait to get my sets.
Ever consider doing a cover for Sideswipe lower gapeing leg hole?
If that ever gets done, I'll be getting multiple sets. Sideswipe, Tiger/Sunstreaker, Red Alert, Gold Sideswipe, and G2 Sideswipe. lol
I saw you are located in FLA, in which town exactly? I will visit Florida in march, any chance of picking the parts up there? (If it's not too far away then)
You know, ive never really noticed it until I just went and looked at mine after you said that! You're right... It sux!!! Dam you!!! Now it's gonna bug me! Lol well looks like I got the next project after invisible's arm fix is done.
I'm outside Orlando. Oviedo area. I'm sure we could arrange something.
I would be all over this!!!
Somebody please create this (^_^)
Seeing there are four molds of this guy and they all have black legs, you can sell a ton
ask and ye' shall receive!
check out the post on the main page...
and shoot me a PM for your set!
LOL That's great!
Looks Great! Just sent payment! Great work sir.
hey folks... sorry for the day or 2 delay...
family has left the building so its back to work!
finished up the last run i started and have the bulk of everyone's orders going out in the mail today!
the next run is in process so it'll take a couple days, so if you've ordered, yours is either mailed or will be by sun/mon.
here's a shot of my set... sorry i'm being greedy and keeping the 1st for me! lol
anyway, i have had a couple questions so i'll answer here for all:
*these can be glued and take superglue very well if you damage anything down the road.
*installation is a straight forward as it gets, but here's the quick and dirty...
-on the arms, you'll notice there is a left and right. easiest way to tell is there is a notch in bees forearm and the notch corresponds on the cover to the correct side. and the angle at the bottom of the cover should match up with his cutout. you simply insert the covers straight in. please avoid inserting them at an angle and trying to bend / force them in as these are tiny plastic parts... and we all know what happens when you have a heavy hand w/ these things! its a friction joint and it might be a little tight depending your set / bee as nothing is ever 100% identical... but straight in w/ a little wiggling should fit the bill and keep them sturdy in place. they should line up flush w/ the notch cutout and sit flush.
- on the underside in alt mode... the wider gap on the underside of the cover slides over the 2 posts that are sticking down to the rear. nothing fancy, they just simply slide straight in as mentioned in the same fashion as above. just don't bend or torque them hard and keep them straight and a tiny wiggle, they should hold fine!
pic from the bottom from the 1st post...
any other questions, just let me know! i aim to please! i'm doing this kinda stuff for fun and want everyone to enjoy it with me...
thanks again for all the support and kind words!
crossing fingers I am on the first batch for this and the sideswipe fillers.
Now what's next on the list?
