Oh well i finish my last version of bulkhead animated, but in G1 form previous Animated G1 acurate http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-fan-art/263470-tf-animated-g1-acurate.html
... I like the body, but not all G1 head designs had the standard human-like face or the standard human-like hands. Look at Shockwave, for example. There were also big fat G1 robots, like the Sharkticons, Cosmos, and Grandus. He just doesn't look right without his three-fingered claw-hands, his trapjaw and his big, fat body. I'm sorry if I'm being harsh, but... You're really taking lots of the personality out of the Animated characters. Prime was great, and Bumblebee was okay (aside from the weird face), but... I'm just sorry, you really are a good artist, better than anything I could do, but I really prefer the original designs more. I'm totally turning into the Animated equivalent of a GEEWUNNER, aren't I? Am I an ANIMATUR?
well i think it looks good! if he wanted to draw ANIMATED Bulkhead i'm sure he would have but i think this is a cool interpretation of the character keep it up!
I like it. My take on Bulkhead was that I found the Super GoBot Defendor -- if painted in Hound's color scheme -- looked like a G1 interpretation of Bulkhead. To that end, I want to get a short-barreled variant and see what I can come up with. The head on your Bulkhead reminds me of G.I. Joe Tripwire's helmet.
Hey, until you start telling people that Animated is the only Transformers series that exists and they're all morons for liking anything else I think you're still doing okay. Aesthetic tastes are okay, as long as you're open minded that other people may not share yours. I like the overall picture. Something though doesn't quite seem like Bulkhead to me...I think perhaps if you kept the head flattened or more out of proportion a little it'd seem more like him. Art is great but the personality has changed in translation between Animated to your style.
I think this picture looks GREAT! Before you implement any of the changes the users above suggested, might I suggest something first? Before you spend a lot of time changing this art, just try giving him a big goofy grin. Don't change anything else, just erase the mouth and give him a smile. I don't think anybody is questioning your skills as an artist, or your skills at adapting the Animated look to the G1 look. It seems like the comments are based on Bulkhead's personality losing a bit when you changed the aesthetic. And a big part of his personality was his unabashed good natured happiness. So give him a smile and see if he looks more Bulkheady.
Personally, I think this particular take looks more like a reformatted Hound than an Animated Bulkhead. Still pretty sweet art, though. MAN HAZ SKILLZ - Alty
I like the art, but if he were blue, there wouldn't be anything left to make the viewer feel like this was based on Bulkhead.
I agree, he could still be G1 even with the big jaw, round body and claw hands, lotsa G1 guys hand odd body parts too. But it's really good art regardless.
It's Hound! Nice work. I like this idea of taking characters with one aesthetic to them and giving them a different one.
nice. I would ignore the people saying that it needs the jaw and hands their fine as they are. After all its nice to change things up and the Jaw does not make the character. Plus its not like Hasbro don't change things up now and then after all Prime got a face in animated and Megatron has only really gone back to his old school look in the last few years.
