Hey guys, Once in a while I take a breather from Shapeways and do some building in Lego/Kreo/Megablocks (love that these are all compatible!) to clear my head. I did this a couple of weeks ago--I updated my car-combiner with a new look/sculpt. Here's the original sculpt, it used a formula car as the chest: I called him "Caster". But as I found a couple more Mega Blocks "Need for Speed" kits, I decided to make him from 6 cars instead...and then he'd look more like his little buddy, "Kingpin". Gave him proper hands and a less derpy face sculpt too... Here are the pics, enjoy: They are non-transforming, so I aim for maximum posability, 360 degree sculpting and solid proportions... wow, these look fantastic man.. I can't tell you how much I wish that a set w/ instructions for these guys was available somewhere. I'd love to pick up the little guy
It's basically 2 Mustangs--a black and white one--mashed together instead of the old formula car. You mean the little ones or Devastator? Many thanks, very much the vibe I was after. I also referenced unreleased Takara car combiners from the "Generations" books. Hey thanks! The trick is picking up a whole bunch of those Need for Speed cars which now seem harder to find...but the core of Kingpin (the little guy) is solely from Kreo Megatron. If there's enough interest, I could at least do better photos if not instructions....
