So I've always thought that the Prime Cyberverse Rippersnapper figure was a bit of a mess - while I liked the Kaiju-like aesthetic of his beast-mode, the way his feet transformed in robot-mode just turned him into a floppy mess and as a result, he was always my least favorite out of the Prime Terrorcons.

But, I was just looking at RiD Legends Grimlock and it dawned on me that, as the two figures share some basic similarities in their transformation and beast-modes, maybe their was a way to fix-up Rippersnapper after all...

Fortunately, Grimlock's robot mode legs can be swapped over with Rippersnapper's without any problems. He's a tiny bit shorter now but the proportions still look good. But what about the beast-mode?

Well, it's still a little bit awkward, but it fits together surprisingly well... a couple of little bits of plastic shaved off here and there would probably help it hold together a little better, but for a simple leg swap, I think it does a pretty good job. There's some articulation using his tail to lower and raise his body as well, so you can have him stand more parallel to the ground if you want. Plus it still works as well as the original ever did in leg-mode...

I mean, I never really thought any of the Prime Terrorcons ever made particularly good limbs anyway.

Now with just some paint to make him all match together, I think this is makes for a much better Rippersnapper, especially since he has actual working legs now! What do other people think? Any other suggestions for what could be done?

That's fucking slick. I always planned on making partsforming stuff like actual hands and feet for the combiner, but I couldn't hype myself up to it.

This is an awesome idea, wonder if here is an oversized version of the legends grimlock to do this swap with the oversized terrorcons set.

Absolutely brilliant! Consider this idea nicked.

@Sykotech- The OS Terrorcons are awful. I have two of them and they are easily the worst figures I've ever had the displeasure of handling. Total garbage.

kmopotato: I agree, some add-on pieces like proper hands and feet would do wonders for Abominus! Someone on here posted a version years ago which used the beast pieces from Beast Hunters Shockwave to give Abominus new feet and a chest piece and it actually looked pretty good (he gave the combined mode a new head as well).

Sykotech: I haven't seen any over-sized RiD Legends Grimlock's yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if they turned up eventually - I'd grab one and try if they did!

Yaujta: Please do! My painting skills are not really up to the challenge of doing this little guy justice, so I would love to see someone else take the idea and make it better! Also it depends on which OS Terrocons you get - there was an earlier OS set which was actually pretty good, had all the articulation of the originals, but there are also sets which are just total rubbish - I picked up a set which doesn't even include the Rippersnapper mold, just two Blots for the legs, one packaged in robot-mode and the other in beast-mode!
