What are some base figures that could work for a classics ironhide? At the top of my head, I have:
    -energon towline
    -energon inferno
    -classics inferno/grapple
-heavily modded universe or cw ironhide

Thoughts? Altmode doesn't need to be g1 accurate but i'd like some sort of strong looking truck bot with a windshield chest.

Energon Tow-Line makes a fantastic Ironhide and Ratchet. TFCC did that as a botcon exclusive a number of years ago, and the price on those two are pretty high - but they're also very dated figures. I think I'd probably use them, but I doubt everyone would agree with me.

Have you seen the KO oversized toyworld throttlebots? Aurora might work. They seem to be large deluxe/small voyager, about the same height as classics optimus.

    Towline is the best option.
Energon Inferno is fine idea too.

Aurora really does look like it could work! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try hunting one down sometime.

No problem. Just remember the ko is upsized and cheaper, about $20-25 last I remember, still good quality too.
