Bryce/brr-icy was a long, longstanding member of cybertron.ca (and it's predecessor message board), and I remember interacting with him in the old days when I spent more time on there vs. here. Cybertron.ca was/is a smaller community, so you 'saw' more of the same people there, and brr-icy was always a great guy on the boards. Friendly, passionate, when he contributed to a thread it was always better off, especially if he was posting pictures. His photography always made the toys seem so... Important I guess, they looked so much cooler than in real life in so many of his shots. I hope the photographic archive he was working on all those years gets out somehow, I'm certain it would be a real triumph.

I'm sorry we've lost Bryce, and I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with him in person at TFcons over the years. My condolences to all the people who knew and cared about him, and may he rest in peace.

Thank you Bryce, for letting us all see these toys the way you saw them.

Terrible news. I was also on Cybertron.ca and absolutely loved his photos. He was such an inspiration to my own photography.

    RIP

Bryce was my husbands best friend (as well as a good friend of mine) for many years. To see what you all have to say about him brings joy to our hearts. I’ll be making sure that his family sees this. Thank you for your kind words.

I didn't have any personal interactions myself but his galleries have been an immense resource for me in researching for customising projects, RIP!

I was shocked to hear this and then even more so when I figured out more details …

I don’t have words, if there’s a life after this, I hope you find the peace you deserved here on earth.

You were basically a celebrity in my eyes as a younger collector and your vintage collection and photography were always so very impressive! I still wish that project you worked on would see the light of day!

I just was chatting with you a week ago… I wish I could have said something or been there for you.

    til all are one :(

EDIT: His family has started a go fund me to help with his memorial services.

Bryce Rutledge memorial service, organized by Brody Osterling Samuelson

To say the very least, this man was a fixture in the community and had some of the most comprehensive and beautiful photos of vintage transformers… if you’ve ever googled a resource, you’ve come across his images!

If you feel compelled to support, it would be lovely if anyone that has ever seen his work would even submit just $5 to contribute… what a message that would send about the support of the communities he dedicated so much of his time to!

Sad news. I didn't know him personally or ever had any real contact with him -- just some quote and reply here -- but I definitely know of his work. Don't spent that much time more in the G1 thread, but I have many pictures he made downloaded on my computer. As I once joked, I'm building a massive G1 collection in Brr-icy pictures. Because his pictures were excellent.

Wish strength and comfort to his friends, family and loved ones!

I hadn't seen Bryce in many years due to the pandemic and the lack of conventions; but well over a decade ago, he and I (along with some others) shared a hotel room for several years in a row at consecutive TFCons in Toronto.
You will be missed my friend.
