Nice to have the two different versions for display options (4 if the black and United Explorer versions come to fruition). I think I'd be good with the silver and the ROTF Explorer versions for my United and ROTF FP Bruticii, Bruticus was depicted as having bits of Blast-Off's wing kibble as his chest shield in some eps of the G1 show, and a more uniform gray or silver chest plate in other eps. PO'd as soon as I get back home. :D

Thanks for the reply, just switched my preorder to the colored one for my original FP Bruticus.

Kinda random, but is there anything in the real world (non-train cow catcher ^_^) that comes close to something like this?

Maybe a mine sweeper? I think some of the mine-clearing vehicles (armored and hardened against explosives) also feature something like a front plow to sweep for IEDs. I can definitely see the Combaticons (being military themed and all) using similar tech.

Ordered the silver one for my ROTF set.

I'll wait for toon shield in United colors. United colorway looks the closest to the cartoon.

I'll respectfully disagree. From my perspective, RotF looks closest to toon and United is closer to the G1 toys, as far as color scheme goes.

I'm sure there's better examples, but with some imagination and a couple of beers, sounds legit! :thumb

Lol.. a cow catcher on a train is where the name came from, and the idea of Onslaught having a huge battle guard.

    Thanks guys..

HAHA.. Pretty much. Let's face it, gestalt mode had to be the main focus, with a fun little way to store it in alt mode:)

Worked for Bayverse Bonecrusher and Brawl (didn't their designs feature a plow of some sort?), I think. :D

Oh, no doubt. Even then, I'm not one that needs every single piece incorporated in all the modes. Looks cool to me in the Bruticus mode and that's all that matters

    Was just curious. :p

I definitely want to get this for FP's Colossus, but any chance for pics of both on the figure, so we can see how they look? I'm torn presently on both choices, but leaning more towards the silver.
