That is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever seen in the modern world of comics. Thank God Earth One exists.

That's pretty cool, and actually pretty creative of Morrison. But it really reminds of when he outed Professor Xavier and subsequently create the X-Corporation in his New X-Men run.

Though my question is, what ever happened to Hush since he was posing as Bruce all this time.

My friend, you must not read a lot of comics, lol.

It's grant morrison, this'll either be great or a horrible miss step. Based on previous Batman stories, I'm wary.

My question is, is Bruce Wayne:The Road Home even over? The last issue I have is #5 when he just shows up in the Watchtower and all of reality is going to explode since he did not return the way they wanted him to?

Dude, that is Earth One, or at least the closest equivalent to Earth One in the mainstream DC comics after all of the Crisises that multiverse has gone through.

I believe he is referring to the upcoming "Batman Earth one" graphic Novel by Geoff Johns.

I can't say that this necessarily surprises or even disappoints me - DC has been coming up with one desperate "news-worthy" year-long stunt to boost their sales after another since 1992, so for me it's almost become an expected thing. I wouldn't be surprised if in another year or so we'll get President Batman.

I think the idea of turning "Batman" into a global franchise is a good one and would lead to some interesting stories. But the idea of Bruce publicly announcing it, rather than just funding other street-level heroes around the world in secret, seems odd. Especially since the statements in that press conference should blow his secret identity fairly quickly, unless everyone on Earth is a complete idiot. Also, even assuming "Bruce = Batman" doesn't click with people, shouldn't Bruce face some legal trouble for funding a vigilante? Aiding and abetting or something?

Im a big fan of Morrison so i have faith that this'll work fine once he gets inc. rolling.

As far as i'm concerned he only said he's funding batman and hasn't totally outed himself to the public. I guess this lets dick stay as batman in gotham while bruce jets off to these other places... so it essentially creates the biggest cover story for bruce ever =)

for example instead of him 'finding evidence to prove his parents innocence'/'skiing in the french alps' he's now jetting off to check on some new tech for batman or some intelligence for him. After all we know bruce handles batman in a more stealth like manner to dick so i don't imagine many people catching onto batman's appearance in the countries he visits and if they do they can always say the 'local heroes' captured the villain/thwarted the plan.

this sounds like a terrible idea. I haven't read batman since RIP, so I can't say what I think of the current storyline, but this idea doesn't make me want to get back into batman.

Ah, but you're trying to apply real world legal principles to the DC Universe, which doesn't fly. Never has, never will either. This is, after all, the same society that can exile a man after he's found not guilty in a court of law.

I think my biggest confusion with all of this is the fact that Hush has been posing as Bruce Wayne the entire time that Bruce has been "dead." Really, Bruce's explanation that he's been trying to prove his parents' innocence is just unnecessary.

No, I do. For me this ranks up there with bringing Aunt May back from the dead and Black Panther taking over Hell's Kitchen for Daredevil.

Yes I am. It's the last bit of hope I have for the current DC stuff.

You should be more pissed that Morrison's Batman run is just a modified version of his New X-Men run.

You must be one picky reader then. :thumbs2:

Honestly though, i really don't see why some are getting so upset over it. It's not like Bruce is pulling a Peter Parker/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark.
