My 7 yr old broke the hinge (see pic). I'm thinking about supergluing it and make it perma robot mode.
you could try making a conehead jet mode for robot mode. if youre a customizer/crafty type, you could totally try engineering something where the wings end up at the bottom for bot mode
what you can do is sand the peg that holds the wings on and sand the stumps down so when the wings transforms they dont have so much tension and then super glue the broken bits together after some light sanding
This could be a good opportunity to make something completely new. Mess around with transforming it without the shell and is it if inspires you.
Make a metal ring out of stiff wire (Staple, small paperclip, etc) Attach the parts back with a little superglue so they will stay in place set the ring over the side of the hinge so it covers the broken part and the part still attached to his back Heat the ring with a soldering iron or wood burner iron until the ring pushes into the plastic. use the soldering iron/wood burning iron to smoosh plastic over the ring Sand and paint as needed. if done correctly this should reinforce the hinge and you would be able to still transform him. If not, you can always fall back on your original plan to glue him permanently into robot mode. Note-heated superglue gets mad and will burn your eyes so do this in a well ventilated area.
