Fantastic! Where's the rest of the team? The Sailor, Biker, Construction worker and Indian?
A sailor! That's inspired! Might have to start a camp Seaspray, or Broadside.
I think Animated and Japanese Beast Wars covered the Construction Worker and Indian.
Maybe Oil Slick should have a Sons of Unicron jacket? It could fold up and store in his cannisters in alt mode.
The work looks good
This makes me think more of Detritus than anything though.
The custom is impressive. I dig the hat, the hoisters with the guns, the longhorns on the grill, and the paint job. He does remind me of SG Hound, but its whatever. You know he needs a poncho...Oh yeah!
Villiage People inspired Transformers...hmm..interesting idea though.
looking good love the guns
Oh my gosh this is brilliant, you did an awesome job too!
okay.. I gotta ask...and everyone here knows I am not trying to bash on anything...and maybe I am just so far out of the loop..but...
..is it titled brokeback because his masculinity is in question, like...he is a little bit sissy...or because he is a cowboy....or are you actually going some sort of homosexual route with this?
Me being a Texan, I love the whole western thing he has going on..the bull horns are great...paint work is good....
My only real critique is that I think the hat sits too high on his head...
Otherwise, I'm loving him!
Honestly, the brokeback line is a polite jokey poke at the cowboys of Brokeback Mountain. That movie has - for better or worse - become synonymous with gay cowboys. Your issue is with Ang Lee there, not me haha. I'm a fan of Sergeo Leone movies and I'm currently reading Dark Tower so there is as much coolness as campness to draw on for inspiration.
However, that is not to say this figure is intentionally gay, straight or whatever, Transformers are a-sexual right? Someone said Brokeback Cybertron when I was discussing this figure and it just stuck.
Either way, it was just an attempt to do something different with a TF and I love this figure so much. I think the bullhorns look awesome to so I'm glad you approve.
The hat does go further down on his head, I was trying to fit the eyes in. If the hat is too low the steerhorns are too high and you can't really see his face. Design flaw, but in a cool Clint Eastwood way.
haha..gotcha....just wondering if this was some kind of statement...and know I know..and knowing is half the battle....
Due to having moved 6 times in the last 14 months I haven't really done any new customs, so I am thinking of entering this in the Botcon Customs competetion. Thoughts? Is he good enough to enter?
Sorry to zombie thread.
I wouldn't mind some sharper horns that didn't have string on them, but this is easily still my favorite Hound, so that's gotta count for something in my mind.
