So I happened upon Terrorcon Cliffjumper this afternoon before I went into work today.
Get get home after a long night, open him up, and bingo, the front grill and bumper broke right off the hinge that held it there.
I know TRU will refund me as long as I have everything, but I'm pretty sure that the other Terrorcon Cliffjumper will be gone by that point.

I'm torn weather or not I should keep him...
The grill has no function at all in robot mode, and in vehicle mode I'm able to still slide it in place, and you'd never know it was broken.

I mean he is a zombie bot....I suppose it makes sense that he's broken...

    I don't know yet.

Anyone else facing a similar dilemma?

A lot of people have had this problem. In fact, I've seen more people note broken ones than not.

I'm glad I got the SDCC version so I don't have to worry about this problem.

Mine never had this problem and I only found out after I got him that there was this issue running around. I say try to take it back, and if you dont see the other terrorcon, then keep it, but since you mentioned that it isn't really a problem, don't worry about it. Something like that would irk me though as just knowing there's a slight problem sends me up walls

Man, at this rate, I'll never own any PRIME toys. WTF. A bunch of these 2nd-run First Edition figures made for the US market have big QC problems spanning across the majority of the manufactured figures. Where the heck were the QC testers during those runs? Asleep at the wheel? Out to lunch? Canadians, consider yourselves fortunate with your 1st-run First Edition figures and their good QC. Argh. And I was waiting for these things for sooo long. God Dammit.

That sucks man. I have 2 and they seem ok so far. I've transformed them both a handful of times and they are still good.

    Really? That stinks.
I've been hearing a lot of quality control issues with toys these days.
I guess it was a matter of time before I picked one up.

I think what I'll do is bring it to TRU tomorrow, if the other TC Cliff is there I'll exchange him.

Mine hasn't broken, and I honestly don't see how it would. Is it a misaligned pin or something?

The plastic hinges part of the hood were broken. So the pin wasn't held in properly.

Yes you do. My SDCC broke in the same manner, first time I transformed it to car. I was not being hamfisted either.

This is true, same for me and don't you dare think "we'll haha I handle them more carefully" because I've had takara first edition from the get go and that guy gets transformed all the time. I get SDCC cliffs snaps on the drive home ( I live in southern Cali) I was livid.

Apparently the GDO version has this problem too.

It's been reported about the US version of the GDO, but I haven't seen any complaints about the import version.

My import GDO has been messed with a lot and even fallen off my desk a bunch of times with no issues.

I'd take it back. I would rather not have it all than have one that is broken.

Mine was busted in the package. As soon as it was free from the little clips on the hood pieces that form the waist it just fell right off. I've never seen another one on shelves so I just superglued it back in place. It stays on fine and it can be transformed without issue.

Curious that they would use a pin joint in such a fragile area though.

I got a gdo cliff that did the same. The grill and the horns were broken right out of the package.. I was lucky enough to find a replacement.

Well I was lucky enough not to get a broken Terrorcon Cliff, but mine has stress marks all over. I'd have to double check but if memory serves me right every one of his joints has some form of stress mark from "minute" to "oh boy that could be trouble". It's a shame really since he's such a fun figure to mess with. He also feels cheaper in a way not as durable as my FE Screamer, which I bought at the same time.

Sad that we finally get the FE's in large quantities only to have them suffer from QC from lesser quality plastic, etc.

Ugh, my Classics Smokescreen. I actually just posted about this in the "toys you hate to transform" thread :lol . A fellow TFW member gave me an AWESOME deal on a MOSC one he had, and during the first transformation, one of the arms ripped right out of the fucking pin at the shoulder :mad . It's not like it was my first time ever transforming this figure either -- I already owned the Prowl mold for a while at the time and I knew all about the loose balljoints on the doors. Never figured the arm would pop off like that :lol
