I don't know if there's already a thread about any Broadway Musicals yet but if there hasn't then cool. As the title says have you seen any Musicals on either Broadway, off Broadway or really any musical that played near you that came from there? If so what were they and how did it feel like?

I've seen Little Shop of Horrors in my local town theater in 2009 then I've seen Phantom of the Opera around this year in February at the Majestic Theater in NYC. They were fun to experance. :D

I saw Spiderman on broadway, and he got stuck over the Audience, right over me, he was panting hard. I enjoyed that.

Otherwise, I've seen Annie on broadway and Avenue Q off broadway. Probably some others, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head seeing in NYC.

Was able to see The Lion King in London in 2005 during the ambassadors of music trip and again in November of last year in Phoenix. The opening sequence always brings tears, the music being so powerful and moving. Of course I would see it a third time if given the chance :) .

now THIS is my thread. Having two BA's in music and theater a master's in musical theater and two teaching credentials in music and theater
THIS is something I can talk about.
I've been in musical theater productions, I've directed them and I've seen a ton of them and know the words to about every single one, lol
My favorite is Phantom of the Opera there is just something magical that happens on that stage, when the candelabras come out from the bottom of the stage and the chandelier comes down from the top of the house to the stage (which I understand for insurance reasons that do differently but when I saw it the chandelier when up from the stage to the top of the theater house and crashed down back to the stage at the end of the first act it was incredible!)

I just saw Rocky when I was in New York a few weeks ago. Awesome, awesome play.

About ten years ago, I saw Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King on Broadway as well.

I saw South Pacific at the Music Circus here in Sacramento. Not my favorite musical, but was still pretty good. My favorite is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, mostly because I was in a production of that in jr High. Other favorites, Paint Your Wagon, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Phantom of the Opera... I love musicals.

Unfortunately, I learned in jr high that I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever.

A production of it is on Netflix (in canada)

I'm a big fan of musicals, but have not seen too many.
I've only seen Shrek, Cats, Grease and Tommy.
I'd like to see Wicked, Book of Mormon and Rocky (althought they cancelled it)

The soundtrack to Wicked and Book of Mormon are spectacular.

I've seen both The Lion King and Wicked in my local theatre in Dallas. Was moved to tears by both. It was really quite magical; the Dallas theatre crowd is always really into the show. Applause started for The Lion King the moment the giraffes began crossing the stage, and a slow, steady applause went for the elephant as it made its way to the stage, and the audience erupted when it finally took the stage. In the final verse of Defying Gravity, my ears were lucky to have survived the applause when Elphaba belted out that last note. Having no previous musical viewing experience before Wicked, I leapt out of my seat and was cheering with the rest of the audience.

I want to see Little Shop of Horrors, Rent, Avenue Q, and also Aladdin. Primarily for Friend Like Me and Prince Ali; James Monroe Inglehart is a gift to theatre even on the soundtrack.

Yeah, the sound track is pretty great. I think it hit a cord with many people who spent their formative years in the 90's. (not me, as I was a teen at the time, but still)

I would also like to see a production of Sweeny Todd.

Worked at the theater that had The Lion King in Toronto (2000-2004). Was there from the beginning to end. Full time during the summer months after exams, random shifts for the other 8 months.

Always laughed when a parent had to bring the kid out who was too young for it.

    Haven't been here for a while. :)

I've seen Wicked around the end of July and I loved it. :D  I enjoyed listening to the soundtrack and to see it live on stage at last was truly a thing to remember. Both Elphaba and Glinda shone wonderfully as characters. It brought back memories of the Wizard of Oz movie while it stayed true to the it's original book story.

I've also seen Matilda at my last NYC trip this month. I enjoyed it more then I expected. It's a great adaptation of the original story and it made the Trunchbull even more sinister here which given how already nasty she was I didn't think it was possible. the child actors did a fantastic job acting as well.

I saw Wicked. Really enjoyed it. Glad I saw it. Favorite song out of it? "What is This Feeling?" or "Loathing" I've gotten different results from different people.

But yeah, great song. Favorite, personally.

Reefer Madness: The Musical is one of the sharpest and weirdest musicals I think I've ever seen.

I've seen Phantom twice, Beauty and the Beast and lots of other smaller productions. I am a musical soundtrack collector. I have so many. Jekyll and Hyde is one of my favorites.
