Not according to Lorenzo, who I quote as saying something like the film was '1% contradictory, 99% not' or some bullshit like that. Anybody with a brain can figure out it's completely different but, well, Lorenzo has no brain. And he's still the PR guy for god knows what reason.

I'm not willing to forgive that easily. Paramount has to prove to me that they aren't going to go back down the same road that led to AoE and TLK. Simply sticking in some G1 fanwank isn't enough - I need to see more than just a quick fix job to believe they're actually honest this time around.

And that basically comes down to them making another film which outright contradicts existing canon in a way nobody can deny happens without looking like an idiot (which sadly is NOT just 'Bumblebee arrives after WWII' given the sheer number of times people honestly believe that the autobots would leave Earth after 1987 just to return in 2007), gives Bumblebee his voice back, or at the very least publicly fires Lorenzo. Preferably all three at once. I'm being picky about this, but as a consumer I have that right.

I still haven't actually seen that, either, even though my sister and dad did and said it was a great film. The reality is I just don't find going to the movies worth the time these days. And I'm certainly not going to waste $10 on a movie ticket simply to 'do my part' in keeping that fat fuck Lorenzo employed, not when I could get a choice piece of HO scale rolling stock for the same amount and get infinitely more enjoyment for the same price of entry.

I guess the first big question is why call the character Blitzwing to begin with? Unless you knew about the interview or his voice actor is in the credits there isn't anything to indicate it was Blitzwing. We never see a tank form and it's not like Blitzwing ever had a lot of catch phrases where you'd know oh he said that then it has to be Blitzwing.

Perhaps going forward there is the big question about all those dead Decepticon parts just laying around. Does Sector 7 find them all or do parts end up in the wrong hands if there are sequels?

It's one of the reasons I would want to see this. This movie felt like they were going to start giving the bots the character they deserved. The seekers got shot up, but you didn't see them die. Same with all the autobots with the exception of Cliff. Offing popular Transformers just to off them is what would piss me off with Bay. That and no dialog.

Meh, he is Blitzwing until the real Blitzwing shows up in a sequel.
He's a cool generic seeker soldier with unique alt mode, no more.

Shockwave being the one who takes these 2 dead Decepticon scouts and a Seeker, and then perhaps also using parts from a tank, and sowing it all back together to create Blitzwing, who would as a result have 3 seperate personalities, would be pretty frikkin' awesome. His Jet and Tank mode as a result could look quite alien due to him being a bunch of mis-matched parts.

Taking the remains of the failures and using them as spare-parts to create a Triple changing power house. The final product could look very G1, while having a new origin to his creation.

His character model and voice credit are Blitzwing just to make things easier for production. He's never actually called Blitzwing in the movie. Brawl in the 2007 was named "Devastator" in the subtitles because somehow they missed the fact that that name is iconic, but the actual Constructicon Devastator appears later. There's no point bringing back that particular Seeker Blitzwing because he's just an extra; the actual Triple-Changer Blitzwing could easily appear in a later film.

Hopefully, they also know that nobody paid attention to The Last Knight, so it's not too late to bring in the actual Hot Rod and get Judd Nelson to voice.

Show that the Decepticons actually care about the loss of their comrade.

Send out some seekers to collect the remains, or use it in the sequel where they find them in Sector 7's possession.

He was never called Blitzwing in the movie itself so anything could be possible

That's fair, they could bring another character in who is called Blitzwing and who is a separate character, as they sort of did with Devastator/Brawl in ROTF. I'd prefer they didn't bother, even if it gets us a triplechanging Blitzwing, though. Find someone else. Make someone new, if needed.

Jazz got ripped in half & they never brought him back. Ratchet could have easily repaired him. Just sayin.

I'd be surprised if he was able to survive that at all. I mean it'd be cool if he did but that explosion was pretty huge enough to render anyone dead. As for him being rebuilt into a triple changer that'd be neat. It could be his origin of how he came to be one and bonus points if he got the side effect of having many personalities like in Animated.

Yeah, that's what I was going for. We get the Frankenformer aka Blitzwing that I really liked in Animated. Him, Bulkhead and Lugnut were great adds to the series along with Lockdown.

That's a neat idea but I think it's a little too specific a thread for another movie to pick up on. They're not going to devote that kind of screen time to explaining this, as cool as it would be. Maybe in a comic.

This thread made me think of something this post pointed out from another thread that may provide a more convenient solution for Blitzwing:
He's never actually named on screen.

I'm actually glad that Blitzwing goes unnamed in the movie. It's hardly Blitzwing, he's basically just a nameless seeker, which the Cybertron scene makes clear there are plenty of in this universe. Without an on-screen name or any screen accurate toys, it would be easy for a sequel to ignore this seeker's supposed name altogether and introduce a better Blitzwing in the future, no questions asked.

Just pick any B/C list deceptijet name and retcon Bumblebee's "Blitzwing" into that. Nobody will mind. Bitstream or Skyquake or something. Heck, calling him Skyquake even sort of makes sense considering both this guy and (Prime) Skyquake arrived on earth prior to the rest of the Decepticons and
were both killed by Bumblebee early in their continuities.
    It's so obvious.

If Hasbro or anyone else in a position of authority tweets it out then it becomes true, easy.
Then just have a more authentic looking Blitzwing triplechanger show up in a future sequel and have some bot identify him by name on screen, no big deal. Done.

I wish Blitzwing had been a main villain in a film. While his scenes were cool in this movie, I think it was a wasted opportunity for Blitzwing.

This idea could work. The use of three bodies is necessitated by the incomplete nature of each con- they’re all in pieces, so parts from each are needed to complete one transformer. But what could they do with one robot? Why, give it the alt modes of two Soviet vehicles (Mig-31 and a T-55) to impersonate Soviet forces in order to justify action against Russia. It fits perfectly into both established lore regarding Blitzwing’s appearance and also fits the period.

I mean humanity could gather his remains and just piece him together Frankenstein style and just add like tank parts for things that are missing. They reactivate him, he remembers everything and goes on a hunt to kill Bumblebee

He was never named in the film.
Just simply consider that 'Con a redshirt and you can still have Blitzwing.
