He gets an 'A' for effort, but he's beyond a failing grade for his results:

Walter White Pep Talk - YouTube

This scene, for me, is a marker for seeing Walter White as a human, but one that can't fully grip exactly how badly he's doing. Also, it marks a clear place where a viewer can start to hate on him for how he acts - yet still empathize with him trying to cover up his mess.

I seriously hope its not Skylar who takes out Walt, that's pretty much the only way the series can leave me with disappointment.

We haven't heard anything new about Walt's cancer... Do you folks think he's developed a brain tumor? Maybe that's why he's gotten really nuts. :lol

    LOL!
"So what we're left with is just the 50th worst air disaster."
Yes, that scene is a marker for Walt's character.
It also shows what an excellent show Breaking Bad is because the high school kids actually look like high school kids.

I'd like to see Walt and Carmen accidentally meet at the grocery store or something. That would be a great scene.

That's a definite possibility, but one that I hope the show doesn't pursue.
If Walt had a brain tumor that was affecting his decision making than it makes him a victim. And if there is one thing this show is about, it's about choice.
There's something about his personality that's making him do these things.
Having a brain tumor as the reason would ruin it.

We've seen Jesse vs Walt in season 4 and I dont wanna watch that again. I really hope it's Hank who has the final showdown with Walt. I think Jesse will end up getting killed off, the color pink symbolizes death in the breaking bad universe...Jesse PINKman.
    Just my two cents.

Yeah, but I'm anxious to see how everything plays out with them. I would be surprised in the least if
Heisenberg ends up killing her, and then meets Walt immediate with regret, just as it happened with Mike.

    No.

Yeah, and how the kids react to Mr. White's speech is pretty authentic. Speaking of that, this show pretty much exemplifies authenticity to me. "Reality shows" can't begin to hold a candle to it.

    :lol  Yeah!

I can see the point (and I'd have to say that I wouldn't want to see this either), but Breaking Bad knows how to tell a story and tell it well. I could see just about anything happening in this show and it being done well could sell it. This show could pull it off.

Even if it did happen, Walt is choosing to become Heisenberg. This show has been able to build sympathy and empathy for Walter well while developing a hatred for him as well. I want him to get what he deserves while also wanting him to totally get away with everything at the same time!

I still think that [I'd like to see]:

I'd watch the shit outa that spin-off, no joke.

Also in regards to the season finale that just aired, all I can say about the last 5 or so minutes is
holy shit. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if it became a cop out or something that got brushed off for half the season, but honestly I can't think of a better way to have us wondering for the next few months than this, especially since Hank's literally been toothpicks away from having the entire tend fall into place right in front of him for almost the entire season.

Man, it's gonna be a hell of a wait until next summer. I'm reminded of how amazing the final 9 episodes of the Sopranos were, I can only imagine the heights Breaking Bad is gonna reach in its final episodes.

My mind has been racing ever since the season five premier with the Walt of a year from now and how that the "present" connects to him. Ever since the gun he purchased in that episode, I've felt that it was for
the war he is/intends to wage with the DEA and the last of his life.

One of the [many] things I enjoyed about this episode was seeing
Skylar smile at Walt again for the first time in MONTHS (of their time and ours). Prior to Hank taking a dump
, the viewer can get the impression that they were actually to the point of working SOME things out.

Also, while Hank may have his suspicions, it's inconclusive. Even if he "KNOWS", what can he pin on him? Also, what else has Walt not tied off that Hank can inspect? Even if Hank does come up with some pebbles of evidence, will it be enough to convict? How will Walt dodge Hank and any sort of interrogation tactics from Hank? Does Skylar spill it all, or does she have too much vested interest to keep quiet? Does Jesse talk to protect himself or does he stay silent to protect himself? What about this new distribution unit and/or Walt's new "partner" with Lydia?

Clearly from the pilot, Walt was on the run from something/someone.

Another thing I thought of: I think most viewers (and even Cranston and Gilligan have commented on this) have directed their assumptions of Walt's eminent fate due to all of this. But what of Skylar and the kids? Are they still alive at the end of all of this?

    YES.

For real. This was almost the same as the wait from season 4 to season 5 . . . just nearly 10 times worse.

This show has/and can do no wrong in my eyes at this point. It's elevated television to the point of "fine art" - a point that I never saw television doing with it's medium. That's no disrespect to some of the other fine shows that have been created over the years, including it's partner in crime, Mad Men (which is also a great show). This show has everything I could ever hope for in a TV show - or a movie, for that matter.

What do you mean by pilot? Are you referring to Season 5's first episode?

I'm somewhat disappointed with how Walt handled...
Mike's body. The acid barrel has become a little too common a method of body disposal lately. All things considered, I think Walt could've at least given Mike a proper burial. I'm sure he could've found a perfect spot considering it's New Mexico.
