Eye patch on the toy or bust

Did you mean to post this in a different thread?

I like the eyepatch on his character model. It looks good and, to my limited knowledge, there aren't many Transformers who're cyclops' because they've lost an eye. The toy, however, I'm not sure on. I'm torn between "no, leave the patch to the third-party guys", and "yes, it would be cool if the toy had it".

Screw one eye, no eyes are all the rage! :lol

If so, then good, at least we'll get character designers referencing someting other than G1.

I still don't see why he has to have a patch. If Starscream can get a new arm why can't he get a new eye? Perhaps I've seen too many shows from way back when eyes could be replaced, its engraved in my head.

Either Knock Out did not have the right parts in storage (a la Starscream almost not getting an arm), or Megatron forced him to not replace it. Which I'm more inclined to think the latter since Breakdown himself say it is a reminder to never fail Megatron again.

Pirate, there's like no question on that. What about him says: small and hides in shadows, sneaking around afraid to get caught? Nothing.

What about him says: YEEEAAH, TIME TO KICK SOME ASS WITH MY EYE PATCH?! Everything.

I dig Pirate Breakdown so hard, so there better be some way his toy has an eye patch or I will be disappointed...but I'd still buy his toy regardless so w/e.

If he was a pirate, wouldn't he say "Argh, tis an ass kicking to be had ye land lover!". Anyways, I love the eye patch and would love to see it on the toy.

I wasn't too crazy about the eye patch at first but it's really kind of gotten to be a part of the character now so he'd look a bit odd without it. A little something extra to stand out from the other cons and there could be a funny moment if they ever work Shockwave into Transformers Prime.

For the toy I'd like to have the eye patch but I sure wouldn't turn down a good Breakdown toy just because it didn't have the eye patch. Plus a figure for my nephew since I've started calling him Breakdown.

Considering the general consensus is that Megatron refused to let him have it replaced as punishment, it'll probably stay in the show. I could only really see it being fixed if he ever leaves Megatron's command. Which is good because I really like the look of it; it adds a bit more uniqueness and helps to distance him from G1 Breakdown; always good on a name-slap.

On that note I hope his toy either has it or can switch ( preferably the latter ), but if it doesn't have it I'll just sculpt one.

Your argument is 15 years late.

Breakdown should come with two heads-- one with a patch and one without. ....but.... that'll never happen. :(

You know what? If they can't work in an eye patch gimmick, they should just have the original Breakdown have the non-patched head, but make a repaint later that has a retooled one with an eyepatch. And design the figure with a ball joint so you can pop one or the other off.

    My ideal Breakdown though:
    -Voyager, same height as Bulkhead
    -Hammer accessory
    -Head gimmick
    -Buffing wheel accessory

Last one has a 99% chance of not happening, but a guy can hope.
