And Brawl #2 in my collection... This guy took quite a bit of time as i kept adding bits and details the further I went. New hands, a cast head using FP Swindle, a remade chest segment getting rid of the ugly post that that the original mold had...the hardest part was replacing the post section at the top of the arms with folding panels to fill out the empty gaps in tank mode. I couldn't quite make it as streamlined as I would've liked because of those folding panels, but it means that he can have two alt modes, one with the panels all folded down and one where they stick up above the arms in a sort of "battle" mode. Unfortunately, he still suffers from hollow leg syndrome, which can't be fixed due to the transformation... Still, this version is probably the closest I came in terms of scale (close to the G1 toy) and overall look. Hope you enjoy!
I really like what you did with the folding panels that replaced the PCC posts. They look quite natural now. The hands are a really nice touch as well.
Fantastic work ! Imho... the nicest post-G1 Brawl yet. I mean... the modded chest, headsculpt and arms really set it apart from Heavytread, which is already a great base mold.
Thanks for the praise, guys! This is one of my favourites of my collection, but boy those hollow legs still annoy me. I`ve toyed with the idea of reworking them so they fold a different way which would make the hollow sections be at the back rather than the inner sides of the figure, but then again, that`d would keep me from finishing other projects!
I personally envision the blue PCC posts (that used to be in the legs) to be gas barrels in alt mode, ala the Baneblade tank from WH40K. I honestly think if you'd have kept them there the hollowness could have been dealt with.
Dude, you really weren't kidding about all your custom Brawls! I like this one a lot. I always wanted to give this mold longer legs/bigger feet, but it's not an easy fix. zmog
Hmmm....a very interesting point...I'd never seen that before, but you're right! However, it would have made him even more different from G1 Brawl..still, I like your idea. Might revisit this mold in the future...!
