Yeah, right now is a good time to be a brave fan. Goodsmile are just a few months away from releasing the first new non GGG high end brave toy since the masterpiece exksiser/dragon Kaiser all those years ago and they've already said they'll be following up Da-Garn X & Ga-Orn with Mightgaine in the near future!
I was not able to get up into storage this past weekend, but I did find two KO figures in a figure bin. First up is Dash Max! This poor guy. I found him and his KO brethren Sky Max and Drill Max at a garage sale way back when. Since they were KO's they were in rough shape, and I no longer have his brothers to make God Max. But Dash Max is cool. I prefer his sleeky KO red colors to the original's yellow, and as a huge fan of futuristic cars (Hot Rod is my favorite G1 fig) Dash has that going for him. He does have a feature where you can flip and hide his engine, but he looks way cooler with it out. Although his decals and chrome have faded, and his outdated sporty six wheel style is way past it's prime (even for futuristic standards) with that cheeky grin he stays optimistic regardless. He'll be our host and used as scale for future figures as I work on digging out more of my leftover Brave/Eldran stuff. Here he is with his long lost cousin Hot Rod. For scale, Dash Max measures up just over 6 inches. Next up is my favorite Eldarn figure, a smaller scaled KO version of Ganbaruger! This is one of those KO figures where if you touch him a sticker or part will fall off, so I won't be transforming him. He stands around 8 inches tall. I just love the imposing look of this guy, and it pains me to tell you I may no longer have some of the figures that make up the DX form of him, or the even bigger Great Ganbaruger. Pretty sure I sold some of them when I got laid off years back, but we'll see. This KO figure actually could form into Great Ganbaruger also. Here are some stock photos of the size comparisons to Ganbaruger/Great Ganbaruger. More to come soon, I should be able to get into storage today.
I have that small Great Ganbarugar ko and the DX ko (As well as original sans giant sword). Sadly despite being by the same company the small ko pales in comparison to the dx ko (you cant even tell the difference between real and ko aside from stickers tho iirc the ko weighed a bit less). Nice finds.
Went through first box of storage today and found many transformers I forgot I had, and also found this Super Guardion KO set. I got this 6 or 7 years ago. Back then the original version was already well beyond my reach in price, but I got a great deal on this one under a $100. This is your typical Brave KO, with peeling stickers and fragile plastic. But where it really shines is in Super Guardion mode. Here's the box: And here is Dash Max hanging out with Guard Wing, each of the small figures stand just under six inches. Here is the crew of Guard Star, Guard Wing, Guard Fire and Guard Rescue. Even as KO's, there's a lot of charm to these figures. And here is Guardion, who gives off a real Optimus Prime vibe. A rather large figure himself. And here is Super Guardion. As you can see, this figure just pops for a KO. Very cool figure and glad I still have him. More to come soon as I continue my dig through storage.
Mandarake is still the best place to shop IMO. You can find some great deals especially if you can find some without box.
Kinda meant to post something about that earlier. I signed up and got some used DX figures via Buyee. Not wild about the middleman thing and shipping is gonna be pricey but at least I can get cool Brave stuff along with TF, Sentai, Gundam, etc.
If you are in the US, I have a couple of Junkers FS: 1000 Transformers, 3rd Party and other robots. Pic Heavy
