Nice build. Though the tail/bird neck keeps falling off. Also getting the straight/spiral gao into leg mode is a bit of a hassle (mainly the hind 'legs'.
Can we talk about how the newest tobot combiner is a dude who gets powered up by a stealth jet, a drill tank, and a train? For some reason those vehicles really do it for me.
As much as i liked the previous tobot v combiners im not a big fan of this one. It takes previous tobots and makes them combine only and thats kinda... fine. But the later additions dont seem to do all that much for me. New arms... new feet... wings. Feels kinda just a cash grab to get kids to buy the newest addition. The proportions of the train and jet thing are also kinda weird.i prrefer the simplicity of great iron admiral and big troll.
I get where you’re coming from especially on making previous tobots into just combining vehicles, but maaan, nothing is gonna temper my enthusiasm for this thing. It’s got Big Brave Energy. Regardless I’ll soon have all 3 combiners so I can give my thoughts on them in hand.
Started building GGGG and I’m already blown away by how superior to Daizyujin it is. Undergates everywhere, preprinted parts on all components, snug fits and top tier parts separation. It’s fantastic, and I’m so happy to finally have a posable, awesome figure of GaiGar. Can’t wait to build the other Gao Machines, it’s coming together great.
If there's more orders than stock allows then yes. Which is stupid because they have an order stop feature to avoid that but they still let it happen.
I opened the boxes on my GGG and I was impressed by how little stickers there were and all the molded detail
Given how amazing the rest of the model is, I'm genuinely shocked Broken Gao and Protect Gao don't peg inside GaiGar's body. That and the somewhat rickety leg connectors are the only drawbacks and kind of surprising.
I can’t wait to get the set and see if I can’t make a part to fix it. If I do, I’ll let you all know.
It’ll be a bit until I get mine but if I do and figure it out I’ll send the parts out to whoever needs it.
Undergating refers to when the bottom of the pieces are attached to the runners. This helps immensely in hiding nub marks since they'll be hidden between sandwiched parts. Here's an example:
