Really hoping Strongarm gets a deluxe figure. Love having a unique female design.

 

I doubt it's him. If it is then I'd bet it's a tribute to the cast of Prime.

 

Has it been confirmed that the dinosaur is grimlock? He's a T. rex but doesn't really look like Grimlock.

 

Not too big of a fan of the small cast. I understand why they're doing it, but I'd always preferred the huge cast of G1.

 

This is what I'm hoping for...maybe Airracnid will show up aand get a better figure...

 

I found it a mix of both good and bad.

GOOD
- a fair chance of the Prime cast returning (Optimus prime, Arcee, Megatron, etc)
- Some interesting designs for the new Autobots and Decepticons
- Strongarm looks to be a great fembot in character
- Ted McGinley as Grimlock? That's a nice touch.
- Not too many humans around, which keeps the focus on the Transformers


BAD
- Animation seems a bit jerky, like in CYBERTRON
- I hope Bee doesn't angst all the time or Sideswipe act like a young punk or Fixit provide snarky lines.
- Most of the Decepticons seem to be animalistic, with mostly roars and stuff

It looks fairly good though. It's piqued my interest. I'm keeping an eye on it.

A nicer touch than Paula Marshall I suppose. (Not that I'd have a problem being touched by the latter.)

 

A female Transformer whose robot mode isn't a twig? Wow. Now if they can just give her a more interesting personality than being the finger-wagging, moral-guiding big sister. Like Prime Arcee. And Guardian of the Galaxy's Gamora, who still managed to do it despite being a murderous assassin. Small steps, I suppose.

Just from the preview, I think we've seen about as many characters as Prime had its entire run. Simpler animation makes it easier to have a broader cast. I'm a fan of small core cast that allows for better character development, but would certainly prefer to get a broader sense of the Transformer world than Prime was able to offer; it always felt so isolated, which made the epicness they were going for seem false.

Wow, big fan of block primary colors in main five, aren't they? They just need purple to turn next year's toy aisle into a true rainbow. Who wants to bet Galvatron?

 

I'm liking the look of this of this show more than I thought I would. I'm rooting for a good story too. If nothing else, I can get back to collecting figures from the line.

Also - Are we sure that the green guy is going to be Grimlock? Was it confirmed somewhere?

 

Nope, everyone's just assuming at this point.

Me, I won't be surprised if they're a new character, since the robot mode isn't really Grimlock-y in any significant way.

 

A toy-prototype that looks a lot like the green T-Rex Dinobot in RiD could be seen in a special feature section of the AoE Blu-Ray that goes into the development of toys.

Because of that most people think it's safe to say that the Dinobot from RiD is Grimlock.

And why shouldn’t he be Grimlock? Why invent a new T-Rex Dinobot if you already have one with a name that both fans and the kids know?

I still hope for a classic battle-mask that will close around his face when he gets into action in robot mode, once this happens he will look a lot more like Grimlock, especially like FoC-Grimlock.

 

They just made Grimlock even more popular through AOE. How could you think that it's NOT Grimlock?

 

Color me intrigued... I think it's a step in the right direction so far, and could be even more so than this trailer can show. I think I will enjoy this.

 

It looks decent , but one thing is just terible in my eyes... Bumblebee as a leader... worst idea ever... give us Rodimus, Magnus someone but not that yellow guy, i'm just sick of Bumblebee everywhere and now he is a leader... Good grief...

 

did they ever say his name in aoe? If not I think most people wouldn't even know he had a name ( not including the toy line, but since all the dinobots had different colors than in the movie, I think it makes little difference to the general public)

 

The same way that DOM Ironhide wasn't Prime Bulkhead wasn't AOE Hound.

 

Things have a habit of changing in these cartoons that few see coming. I don't think too many imagined they'd actually KILL Prowl in Animated, or temporarily KILL Bee in Prime or Kill off Optimus just to name a few.

So while Bee may be in charge right now, doesn't mean it will stay that way. Of course, the writers could also make Bee a Prime and explain that away by saying he's the child of a Prime  

They could also turn around and make Strongarm or Swipe an eventual leader. Being that this show hasn't even aired yet, who knows.

 

I can already tell that the RID forum section is gonna be quite fun.....for all the wrong reasons.

 

It pains me every time I see a Transformer with lipstick.
