The movie is NOT yet rated, i hope Fox doesn't screw us with another watered down PG-13 rated DH movie. I didn't pay to see the last one in theaters as i had to wait for the unrated cut on DVD as paying for a PG-13 DH movie would be a mistake as it doesn't fit in an already established R-rated adult action franchise. Sure there are plenty of enjoyable PG-13 action movies like Avengers, Mission Impossible, Transformers or whatever but PG-13 has absolutely NO PLACE in R-rated franchises as this has happened in Robocop with Robocop 3, Terminator with Terminator Salvation (I too didn't pay a nickle to see this in theaters and had to wait for the R-rated director's cut on blu-ray) and Alien/Predator franchises (AVP 1) as true fans of those movies were pissed off at studios doing that. Audiences are now getting smarter as they are standing against PG-13ing of R-rated franchises and last year Fox and Lionsgate did threatened us with a PG-13 Expandables 2 and Prometheus as both the Expandables/Aliens and audiences rejected that idea as they launched a boycott with Email campaign to the studios to get both movies rated R, and you know what? the studios DID listened and we finally got both r-rated movies instead of watered down for a PG-13 rating as both were successful at the box-office proving there IS an audience for r-rated major movies as fans/audiences won against executive meddling as studios are learning to respect fanbases of R-rated series as audiences do vote with their wallets and the same thing happened when the PG-13 Total Recall remake flopped as nobody wants to see a PG-13 version of an original R-rated movie when the remake should be R too, however the unrated director's cut was an improvement as IT should had been the version that was shown in theaters, not the PG-13 version. If we want to save DH and give it's R-rated as science intended then let's do an email campaign to Fox to make sure we get an R-rating for the new movie in a polite manner. Fox: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FoxMovies Twitter: https://twitter.com/20thcenturyfox Email the vice president: News Corporation Phone number is included too. Fox UK: 20th Century Fox International | Contact Fox Australia: 20th Century Fox Australia | Contact We need to preserve DH as an R-rated movie saga with a new R-rated installment and fans like myself will be happy.
I though live free or die hard was good. you don't need f bombs or extra amounts of blood to make a good movie. You can tell that expendables 2 was pg 13 at first because most of the extra blood was cg and it looked like crap. I rather have a the movie look good then have crap effects to give it the r feeling.
The problem with Die Hard 4 aka DHINO (Die Hard in name only) was that it wasn't a REAL DH movie like the trilogy, it's good as a stand alone action movie but poor as a DH movie and true DH fans loath it. NO NO, Die Hard is an R-rated franchise MADE for adults and not for teenagers/kids. Hollywood should learn that teens grow up and when they are finally old enough to watch an R-rated franchise like DH and when a new installment gets an R instead PG-13 they'll be glad they didn't dumb down that franchise. DH has always been established to be an R-rated franchise full of cursing, bloody violence, intelligent mature themes, cigarette smoking, drinking, dark action and a no-holds bar badass cop who does some of those things. DH 4 betrayed the series to be sold out for a PG-13 teen friendly thing and that's what i hate about it including DH fans and consider it crap. True DH fans need to speak out against another sell-out DH movie and make sure it returns back to the adult R-rated formula just like Predator and Alien had returned back to the honest-to-god R-rated formula that were both already esbtalished/intended with Predators and Prometheus and both were successful, Terminator 5 will do the same thing. And DH can do the same thing to prevent PG-13 poisoning.
I liked Live Free or Die Hard. I've seen them all in the theaters starting with the original in 1988 when I was 10 years old. I'll be going to see the new one too. I guess I'm not a true fan.
I stopped reading at the "true fans" part. Honestly, now. Any TRUE fan of Die Hard will tell you, that the first DH movie is the only one that counts anyway. And I gotta say, AVP was better as a PG-13 film than as an unrated one. See, the unrated version, in addition to adding a few blood splatters here and there, also added in a completely new beginning, which was totally unnecessary and stupid. And Terminator Salvation? Pfft!! Only part 1 and 2 count. The rest is bunk!! Any TRUE FAN will tell you that!! But besides all that, I have to wonder if the first Die Hard is even R-worthy by today's standards. Aside from a couple F-bombs, is there anything in it that really pushes it over the R-line? (just a note- I'm just giving you a bad time about the true fan bit. Don't take it seriously).
True fan call out=anyhting you say disregarded as stupid and idiotic. All so DH4 was no more or less stupid than the other 3 being PG-13.
Yeah, there's only 1 Die Hard movie, and it's called Die Hard. What you so "cleverly" call "DHINO" is really DHINO3. DH2 is a completely clueless sequel that is just a total rehash. It's Christmas... again. "How can the same thing happen to the same guy twice?" That said, it's still fun, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. "With a Vengeance" literally was another script before it was dressed up to be another DH movie. Another fun actioner, but it's no Die Hard. "Live Free" is just a dumb fun action movie that is only made better by the fact that Bruce Willis plays John McClaine in it, but it would have been just as good if he played Joe Hallenbeck and it was a Last Boyscout sequel. And the 5th DH aka (not really) DHINO4 looks to be more dumb fun, and if you want to deny yourself some fun just because it doesn't have enough blood or f-bombs in it, well then yippy-ki-yay,
I didn't think DH4 was bad. Liked it a lot. Other then a lack of swearing, it didn't seem any less of an action movie then the others. They did get the Yippie Ki Ya in there. There was a gunshot that sort of masked the 'fucker' part, but it was there. To R or PG-13, it will be getting my $8.
Live Free or Die Hard was pretty good even though it was PG-13. In my opinion, the weakest one in the franchise is Die Hard 2 and it's rated R. Rating does not affect the quality of the movies. I also hope A Good to Die Hard is rated R, but I'm still going to watch it if it's PG-13. No matter what, I'm getting a fun action movie with my favorite action movie protagonist in it.
This is one of the dumbest things that I've ever read. What makes it worse is that you're actually suggesting a boycott over a rating, seriously.
ok, i'll be honest. i didn't really care much for live free or die hard. ive seen it once but i didnt properly follow it. maybe i should watch it again.
if it is released with a pg13, then i will just wait for the dvd uncut release instead. but no need to boycott it. like i did with die hard 4, taken 1 and 2. and many others. they did release a die hard 4 with everything edited back in. so why are you complaining? that you have to wait 4 months for the dvd? oh nooo! it's the end of the world, because i have to wait a bit longer!
saw trailer. didn't look too bad. i'll watch it when it hits theaters next month. until then, hold your judgements, people.
Interesting Die Hard fact: Die Hard with a Vengeance was originally a script for a Brandon Lee film. Then later considered for the forth Lethal Weapon film. Till it made it's way to be the third Die Hard film.
now see I'd heard this was in fact the very FIRST film that was written to be a DH film, that even Die Hard started as a different film....since it was a pre-existing book.
