The title says it all. I also direct this to guys with alot of busts, statues, anime figure/statues as well as designer toy people.

I could use some perspective on what you all do with boxes. Are they that important? Is it just a resale thing?

I'm at a point with some stuff that I'd like to keep where I'd like to keep the items but toss the boxes for simplicity's sake, but the whole 'complete package' thing plus the chance at resale and storage keeps stopping me.
The mess my GIJoe palisades bust collection boxes and konami Busou Shinki boxes make drives me nuts and I probably won't sell em ever, but who knows what the future holds?

    What do you guys do?

For carded figures everything usualy gets trashed. Boxed stuff depends, I usualy like to keep the nicer boxes, stuff with fancy artwork and what not. Also for more expensive figures that if I had to pack up would have a secure place.

I used to keep a lot of them, haven;t for the last couple of years. I'm in the process of cleaning out my room right now, so going to chuck all but the prettiest ones...

I keep the packaging for every toy I buy; it gives me more display options, and protection for the toys themselves when they're not on display.

What Vector and Scrappy said. If the figure isn't in it, the packaging usually gets tossed. It has to have some really nice art for me to keep the boxes, cards, etc. The only exception is for my GI Joes because I like to keep the file cards.

Depends on how nice the boxes are. I know I'm keeping all my Masterpiece Brave and SoC boxes, not only because they're beautiful, but also because I keep all the other accessories I'm not using in them.

That's the only way I know to prevent me from finding and throwing away random fist/hand attachments in my room.

Depends on the box. With the 12inchers like hot toys I usually keep extra accessories in them. Really it depends on the box. Some I keep in case I ever move and their made so I can keep the figures safe.

I'd say throw them away. I'm a MISB collector and prefer stuff to be sealed. I see no purpose of keeping a box if its been opened. Throw it away, no need in having MIB toys flooding eBay later on. A toy is either MISB or Loose, no inbetween MIB. :lol

    Ebay:
Cut out the box art and the character profile if it has one, and throw out the rest. If it's a nice Japanese reissue box, keep the whole thing.

This. I keep stuff like the head profile for the movie line for Transformers but I threw the rest away.

Maybe I would keep everything if I had the space but even then thats doubtful.

I keep anything that is out of the ordinary. Only box I really have is for my Centurions sets and my Black Ultimate Daibouken.

I'm very conflicted on this. I've been saving all boxes but it's definitely taking up way too much damn space, even with them broken down. I can't make up my mind whether or not to keep adding to the pile, hoping to one day have more space, or just trash them.

Like aksmth said though I do throw away most of the trays and such
