I mean, internationally. If they were out in the US, they were not on HasbroPulse neither can I see them on ebay. Didn't some third party company make that toy already, btw?
Already have Rung. And when I get Netflix Magnus, I'll have 2. Why would I buy a third? Only want Slither Fang right now.
They really only ever got super-limited distribution in the US. Tail end of the line syndrome to the max. Might have also something to do with the Siege wave 1 and 2 Battlemasters still clogging pegs everywhere.
Except for wave 1 (typically) it's become a huge pain searching B&M stores for new toys. Since TR I've switched to online preorders which I can easily cancel if I should be out and find something. Otherwise I save a huge amount of effort and gas $... Anyways, I think the siege toys repackaged for earthrise is massively lazy and an excuse to not design new toys or even bother to repaint existing ones. Smashdown could easily have been a different color. So could rung.
I don’t mind those limited release tail end toys of one line returning as wave one toys of the next line just to improve distribution.
Slitherfang.... BRICK-FORMERS, robots in... Disappointing guise? He turns into a... Flat plane/ramp! Imagine all the fun you will have when Slitherfang... Acts as a makeshift road for other toys?
The ones that they are re-releasing were considerably hard to find in many areas, so by doing this it gave me an actual fair chance to finally get Siege Astrotrain. However, I do agree with you in that doing this has left an impact on how many actual Earthrise toys are in wave 1 with technically only one leader and one battlemaster (the latter again coming into play in wave 2) considering that we now have 3 reissues that honestly could’ve easily just been better distributed during Siege.
I thought this era of online retail was supposed to fix that. But we seem to be seeing the same damn thing happen online as does at physical retailers. To many things are basically never up for pre-order (at something resembling normal prices) or have pre-orders that sell out within a couple days. And I'm talking about stuff that is supposed to be at mainline retail, stuff like Rung or the Ratbat/Rumble set, not so much show exclusives or Takara imports or that type of thing. +-MWG-+
I think the “new era” vastly improved things for us but I’m not surprised that we still got shafted on Wave 5 stuff. I more surprised that Hasbro didn’t include the second spy set in ER like they did with a few other Siege items. Like the saying goes, “they left money on the table.” I went ahead ahead and got the Takara versions because the supply on the Hasbro editions dried up quickly.
*laughs and also cries in essential service* Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to still be working, but I also am totally afraid to even leave the house.
Slitherfang looks awesome to me. And I'll take all the extra rampformers I can get. I'm really looking forward to the junction rampformer as well. So much play potential. Bases will be built to rival anything ever seen in my toy room before. It will be epic.
They were wise to release Soundbarrier first, Slitherfang and Doublecrosser are far superior, SB has that hump so hes not completely flat, you cant roll over him. I look forward to more of these guys
That's because Hasbro still makes their lines and designs their waves/case assortments for sale through physical retailers. There has been some change over the past few years with Amazon and the advent of Hasbro Pulse and more preorders, but for now brick and mortar is still really the bread and butter. It's a new era for more online retail, but it is still all relatively very new and those fixes are going to take time. And with stores like Wal-Mart and Target not going away any time soon you are still in for a very long transitional period, and stuff like tail-end figures like Rung are still going to suffer for it on occasion.
