If you want dead characters to stay dead and characters not skipping to alternate universes, realities and continuities, then go read a Marvel or DC comic.

    ...oh.

    Oh.

    Ooooh...

Complaining about continuity in a franchise that's been running for over 30 years is just goofy.

too be fair......superman wasn't really dead....he was badly injured and put into a near death 'coma' state so he could heal. his return had him in a black suit that was to accelerate the healing process.

so he never really died there...

but i get the point you're trying to make.

Multiple in-universe sources argue otherwise (I remember the [strikeout]Phantom Stranger[/strikeout] Eradicator, for some reason, describing Superman's state as "categorically deceased" to the resurrected version, to say nothing of circumstances during the more recent "Blackest Night" storyline that hinged on Superman's having been dead). While I understand the reasons for suggesting "coma" as stemming from the ways in which Superman was revived, I think one has to grasp at technicalities there.

    Superman was dead.

Edit: grimlock1972 is correct later in the thread. It was Eradicator that said it. Not sure why I had Phantom Stranger in mind.

I'm glad BotCon and Hasbro are giving us fans the option to purchase such figures, but I don't really like the Terrorsaur character or this CW repaint, so it's an easy pass for me. The resculpted head looks well done, though.

FunPub is likely "done" with the license and Botcon as we know it along with them.

What the means for the concept of the TFCC/TFSS/Con format we've come to know remains to be seen. It's entirely possible Hasbro brings it all in-house next year.

Let's be clear. TFCon doesn't come close to BotCon. From the way they handle guests, to the evening special events, the toy exclusives, the tours and the sheer size of the dealer room at BotCon vs TFCon, there is no comparison. Anyone who has been to both shows and is willing to give you an accurate and honest comparison will tell you the BotCon is the only show that offers you the full convention experience and no other Transformers show provides what BotCon offers to its attendees.

Botcon only has that because it carries Hasbro's officially branding. TFCon is a fan convention, but if Botcon dissolves and Hasbro doesn't replace it you could see it start to grow bigger as people seek a new option.

And that's why I'm going with the TFC version.

BotCon had a lot of that before it was official. Had the evening events. Regular guests didn't charge for autographs. It's not about the officialness, it's about how you approach the show...

I would have had no issue if both of them had stayed dead. :p

Grimlock...who is G1 Grimlock....was in those stories. The sourcebook stated he hated going on the boring exploration missions and chose to go into a stasis pod upon assignment to one of those crews. He obviously existed before being reformatted into his BW body. There are enough loopholes in both the cartoon and IDW stories that Inferno existing before BW would be very plausible.

I would not be against the mind-blowing development that a majority of BW characters who had G1 names were those G1 characters.

In that I'd kill for a CW Magnaboss that included Grimlock and a fifth member.

OK Reflector I need, in addition to that Megatron.

What if they do Combaticons as Beasts?

I can't think of another G1 inspired Maximal or one that shares a namesake with an Autobot.

Not sure if you already knew, Grimlock is an existing Beast Wars Character. He's also been used kind of frequently in club fiction in the last few years. I have asked for a Grimlock figure from Classics Dinobot on the Botcon surveys for years.

Funny, I keep thinking James Roberts would be better off writing for Marvel or DC.

    Transmetal 2 Prowl?

IIRC, he's supposed to be a reincarnated (not reformatted) G1 Prowl.

Is there a name for the color of white you wear, Mr. Knight? It's blindingly bright.
