2005 flamewars for $50? or 2014 ones? Cuz I'd jump on a complete 2005 Flamewar for that price.

If Terrorsaur is the Attendee Freebie figure there'd need to be at least one for every Primus package they'd be selling.

True. You just have the whackos out there willing to drive the price up just so they can satiate the "Gotta catch 'em all... NOW" impulse.

Anyone could just say "I'll pay $300 for it" and BOOM. The bar has been set.

If people want figures bad enough, they'll pay.

The freebie is a character most notable for being a poor man's Starscream and for dying.

Ah well. Yeah. The overabundance of red is kinda killing this set of figures for me. The Club combiner is an orgy of colors. So far with Botcon, it's red, red, and also red.

I can safely skip the rest of the figures, then, unless one of the souvenir sets is someone I want, like Megatron or something crazy like Magnaboss.

I've never been told production numbers for any of the "attendee incentive" figures, and have not kept track of after-market prices. I may be able to get an infodump from Pete after BotCon is over to fill in some of those gaps (he's been pretty willing to answer my questions, but I've tried not to abuse his time), but can't make any promises.

EDIT: Yes, they'll definitely have to have one for each Primus package they sell, but since the number of box sets (which I follow) includes both Primus and Iacon sets (which I don't separate out... I focus on the toys themselves), the best I could say is that years with larger box set production numbers probably also had higher attendee incentive production numbers... acknowledging that not all of those would likely have made it out to the public. I do know that supplies of Slice (the 2010 figure) and SG Ricochet (the 2008 figure) were exhausted by the end of the convention, but even then I don't know their production numbers.

I totally dig it, but all the rubber parts on this mold are keeping me away. Might be totally unfounded, but I've had bad experiences with rubber. Yes I said it.

I think Flamewar went for much higher at first, I seem to remember Flamewar selling for 80+ around the time of the convention? I'm not certain about that, that's just a memory.

This is the first Botcon figure this year that I'm sad I will be missing out on.

Considering Flamewar's aftermarket prices, it's actually CHEAPER in the long run to get that Botcon legacy set from TFCC. Plus, you know, you're getting other toys.

I'm iffy on that Reflector one. RID Gigatron as Megatron, has that been confirmed? The idea of Tigatron is unnecessary but amusing. It's kind of like some of the 2014 stuff that homaged older Botcon figures. Arcee from Blackarachnia sounds clever but the problem is that mold can't really stand and that tooling is too awkward. I was hyped for it till I opened the box. Aways loved animated Blackarachnia's design too in the show.

So wait, the former Holy Grail of RID 2K1 Megs as Rawr I'm a Dragon Megatron IS happening? I missed this.

Gonna try to grab him from the Store or BBTS. then...I guess they wanted to go out with a bang. Too bad the other Holy Grail, Fire Convoy as Defensor, won't ever happen.

Okay, it's not COMFIRMED, but it's obvious. Actually, Pete may have confirmed it on Twitter, but I suck at navigating Twitter...

Edit: actually listening to this again made me realize that it's not TM3 Megatron as was originally intended, but fictionally another pre-BW Megatron.

I'm a bit iffy on believing that Shockwave as Reflector one as well. I just can't see Legends Shockwave becoming any of the Reflector bots without a new head or tooling of some kind. And with the price of the troop builder being cheaper this year, I have my doubts.

As for the rest, Gigatron into BW Megatron is pretty much confirmed at this point as it's tech spec art work was shown during a commercial for Botcon.

FP's license expires this year. So Botcon is in limbo after this year's...
