Does anyone know how many of the Botcon exclusive Sideswipes were made? Also, is he worth the purchase for $21.00?
Not sure how many were made, but yeah $21 is a sweet price if you want him. I've seen him at different prices (I got mine at around $30 I think), but usually I see him around $50. Even $70 once (of course it was at a comic con and the guy selling him was telling me how it was the rarest TF ever made ). If you like the mold/figure or like me are just a fan of SS then yeah totally worth it.
Technically there wasn't. In 2003 there was an OTFCC/Oatfuck (wow, haven't used that word in a while) exclusive. He was a repaint of RiD Prowl, minus the lightbar.
$21 is great for him. Usually goes around $30, with Sunstreaker going around $50. I have both and they're most spiffy. I'm surprised they didn't make 2 'con exclusives of X-brawn since they did 2 each of the other two brothers.
Considering how we saw yet another Lambo and Viper repaint as WM exclusives, but no X-brawn then or since, I'm wondering if maybe the mold is shot. Pity if so. I would have liked to see him as a Trailbreaker or even a larger version of the Hoist Spychanger.
I like the Sideswipe colors over all the other Prowl mold colors out there. Definitely grab it. I think it's the only exclusive figure I've actually taken out of the package and left out. It's a cool toy!
I have the OTFCC Sideswipe, yet I thought I missed a Botcon version somewhere as I had not head anyone refere to it as Botcon Sideswipe not OTFCC before.
IIRC Archer did say at Botcon last year that the car bros. molds had degraded to the point where they were shot.
Unless Ratchet was the mold's dying gasp. And come to think of it, I think I remember Archer, or maybe Alvarez, saying that the Car Bros. molds were shot at Botcon, too. Maybe that's why the thought even occured to me.
$21 ain't bad...just want out for the crummy plastic window...it'll basically crinkle and fall into the box if touched!

Let me tell you something Pandeho.....when the Alvarez speaks you can take it to the bank. One time Alvarez told me that a great man would pass away the next day. Guess what? The next day......Chris Penn dies! What Alvarez said came true. It's like Gospel. So write that down on a piece of paper and place it in your pocket for safe keeping. Then the next time you see him ask him to autograph it. He'll probably only charge you a five spot for it but you'll have something to frame in your living room. You like Dong?
