OK, here’s an idea I’ve had bouncing around my head for a little while. Botcon sets have been a hot topic lately on the boards. I thought I’d throw this out there and see if anyone thought it was interesting. I wanted to try and come up with an original concept. Take the “Cassettes” from G1 and reimagine them with Robot and Vehicle alt modes. This was inspired by the Takara Senator Ratbat.

Rumble – RTS Jazz mold with new head (Rumble/Frenzy head)
Frenzy – RTS Jazz mold with new head (Rumble/Frenzy head)
Ravage – RTS Tracks mold with new head (Ravage/Steeljaw head)
Steeljaw – Generations Wheeljack mold with new head (Ravage/Steeljaw head)
    Ramhorn – Generations Darkmount mold
Grand Slam – ROTF Bludgeon mold with Overlord/Gigatron head
Rain Dance – ROTF Mindwipe mold
Rewind – Generations Sideswipe mold and configuration
Eject – Generations Sunstreaker mold and configuration
Rosanna – Generations Arcee or Chromia mold
Laserbeak – Generations Armada Starscream mold
Buzzsaw – Generations Armada Jhiaxus mold
Squalktalk – Generations Armada Jhiaxus mold

Feel free to comment and suggest new ideas

I suggest that they actually spend some time on QCing the toys and make sure they're assembled correct. Still waiting for a FunPun answer on Canonball fixes.

that would be pretty neat.. though, i'd rather have some of these be store exclusives instead.. so that more people could afford them.

i REALLY like laserbeak using the armada starscream mold.. that's neat.

i would prefer it if ravage were a different mold.. the generations tracks mold just doesn't suit ravage, it's too squat.. though, i assume you were using the alternators figure as a reference. i'd prefer them using the prowl mold.. i think it's a better mold than the tracks mold, and like tracks it also has shoulder missiles.

as for frenzy and rumble.. i'd much rather those use the sideswipe/sunstreaker mold.

for eject and rewind.. i'd prefer them to use the jazz mold.

for steeljaw, you're right, the wheeljack mold would work well for that.

lastly, for ramhorn.. the darkmount mold would work. but if we're keeping a car type of vehicle theme, i could also see them using kup.

it'd be really cool to get a decepticon four pack, and an autobot four pack of these figures.. very cool idea.

I welcome the feedback. My idea can be considered a rough draft. I like the Ramhorn from Kup idea!

Fun idea. Love the Binaltech/Alternators nod for Ravage. A few alternate ideas I'd throw out there:

-instead of making Grand Slam and Rain Dance two separate figures, make them one (as Slamdance) and use the Classics Blitzwing mold for him.

-for Rumble and Frenzy, Jazz is a good idea because of the speakers; a possible alternate version could use Classics Skids, as the little lights and grille detail so his chest resemble tape spools. Plus he's bulky and stompy.

-you could add Movie Mindset as Beastbox, and maybe some other jet-bot as Squawktalk (maybe the Armada Starscream mold again).

I had thought of using Blitzwing for Slam Dance. I think I actually do like that better than my previous idea.

I like the Wingthing idea. Not a big fan of Prime molds but those would be good in a mixed set. Stripes would look freaking sweet as well.

Grand Slam & Raindance should use two Energon Autobot molds, so they can combine into Slamdance.

A few here and there is okay. But not all of them in one Botcon set.

Alternators was part of my inspiration. I like the idea of reimagining traditional characters.
