Counting both Takara and Hasbro versions against CW's reuse count is just plain unfair. Not to mention incredibly pointless. Takara is Hasbro in Japan. If they don't release a figure in some version or another, it'll never happen.

Though I guess you could make a joke about Takara's obsession with all-black repaints of things.

I thought FunPub had said Hasbro liked the idea of the Con figures being aligned closer with the retail line, which is why they embraced the idea of using CW molds.

Though, that would be an added bonus. Instead of running into issues firing up old molds...you're basically just running a smaller subset of CW figures through a few new head sculpts and paint apps, but from the factory's POV it's no different than if they got orders to pump out a bunch of CW Scattorshot instead of CW Sea Clamp.

Maybe... But I still hope there's more combiner limbs in the souvenir sets.

    that's entirely probable.

ha! Nice. I probably would consider it if I could afford too, but I don't need them either. I did just get Grand Scourge though, he's different enough. But if I get Takara Defensor, I'm selling the US version (except Rook and Hot Spot) and if their Cyclonus is done up in some really cool colors/characters I might get that too.

I've been debating going in on the CW figures we won't be seeing here in the states. Mostly Runabout, Overdrive, and Grand Scourge.

But yeah, if they did some crazy repaint for the four Galvatronus limbs I'll likely bite and sell off my CW Cyclonus.

yeah, i'm tempted by Overdrive, but I don't need another Runabout... I can't wait to open Grand Scourge tonight though.

probably Thursday, like the other reveals.

yeah, but no one likes you :thumb

I like Runabout as I feel like his colors would go well with Scourge.

I could live with that, most of the Souvenir/Attendee sets are usually better than the box set.

I've actually been thinking about what kind of team would compliment Scourge's color scheme the best, only problem is it'd be wayyyy too rich for my blood.

    But it'd consist of:
    Scourge
    Runabout
    G2 Dragstrip
    Tarantulas
    Offroad
Hasbro Blast-Off (could be used as a separate character by someone buying the (hopefully different) Takara Blast-Off)

    So you either do:

    2 red arms / 2 dark/black legs
    2 dark/black arms / 2 red legs
red arm, dark/black arm / red leg, dark/black leg, either parallel or diagonally

It's not like it's going to be a garish hot mess, like a Generation 2 palette or something.

I'll probably do every variation possible, I'll have a red arm and a black arm, while also having red leg and a black leg too, maybe his entire right side limbs will match, and his left will. It's not like most other combiners have some unified color scheme, except Devastator, and vaguely Defensor.

Devastator, Predaking, and Victorion. Piranacon slightly less so. Point being, unified color schemes are the exception.

Though, red/black/silver across three members...with a fourth being black and the final being gunmetal blue/grey isn't exactly far off of a unified scheme.
