Accidentally posted this in the news forum, earlier.. oopsie it's merely fanart. I havent modeled any new TF's since I finished that RID prime model several years ago, have had some major life-stuff going on. <3
That looks great but I have a few questions: -Is this supposed to be a Combiner? -Adult collectible? Anyway this pis is awesome.
Hot stuff! It'd be pretty cool if Hasbro released this in the long run. Probably the only original idea for a Fire Convoy redeco I've seen.
adult collectible - cos the botcon 7pack says the same, aaand, for those who dont know, its based off THIS, the exclusive that never was tralala! monkeys.
Geez, weewoo, where the hell have you been? It seems like forever since you've last posted. That Defensor is looking pretty good, and it would be cool to have him fight that RID Menasor you were making a while back. That looked awesome! Anywho, good to have you around again.
Now that I think of it, had that been the original design for that mold >.> I'd prolly have had far less difficulties with excepting RiD. It just never felt like Prime to me, only recently started to appreciate the design (prolly due to E. Prime ) Great stuff Weewoo! PS: I wonder if some guy I once send your way ever contacted you about modelling giant robots for future XBox/PS3 games?
I'm not belittling the work, as it is awesome, I'm just saying the whole "Let's take an existing mold, give it new paint and a head, and call it somebody else" thing just seems overdone to me. That, and it's not even a combiner. It DOES look alot like him, however, so props on that.
Except that: 1) It's not Weewoo's concept, so don't go blaming him for it. 2) The dude hasn't posted work in like, forever, so this is probably his way of getting back into the swing of things. 3) 3D rendering is no piece of cake, so to come up with such a detailed head model with such limited resources (ie, no official figure to duplicate) is a feat in and of itself.
