Remember the indepth feedback form preregistrants were given? Well some of the comments on said forms have been posted on BotCon.com Take a gander
Wow didn't know that this is old.Wow it's bee 3 weeks since BotCon already. How time flies Anyway it just felt good to read POSITIVE remarks about the Con.Specificaly from regular fans like us.Who knows, some of those remarks MAY have come from board members from other TF boards I just find it ironic that in a fandom that's supposed to be positive. That remarks like the ones in the link are forgoten or ignored
These remarks stood out to me 1)when someone says OVERALL it's a empowering way of saying "I had fun but noticed some things that need improving"(At my work reviews I get overall used a lot meaning I have room for improvement) 2)Saying you "have high expectations the next one will be better".That means that they noticed things and hope those things are changed. It comes across as overly positive BUT if you know the words to look for it's actually a constructive critique.Wishing them luck next year Again someone who has concerns but states so in a positive manner. Now what those concerns were we don't know.Quiet possibly the same as the online fandom In the bolded part, this person shares the dislike of the smaller then normal dealer room Someone who shares the fandom's dislike of the timing of the Con BTW there are more statements like the ones I posted on the page My point is that these people shared the same misgivings, but 1)ALSO noted the positives and 2)Voiced their misgivings in a more positive manner then on some posts
But, you know, MC are hardly going to post on their site "Your con sucked, burn!" are they? Let's face it.
That's true but if they really wanted to do a spin on the comments we would have only seen the positive parts of the comments.
Perhaps, but no one's really accusing them of being dishonest enough to edit all the "bad" stuff out of comments. Just that they're not likely to post any "bad" comments. There's a difference.
I don't know of too many businesses who WOULD post negative comments if they receive them. Read ANY testimony section of ANY business and its ALL positive. They would be killing there business by posting negative comments. It would be naive for anyone to think that by reading all of the testimonies that absolutely everyone had a grand ol time. But it would be stupid on MC's part to post the other side also just like it would be stupid for any other business.
It's still nice to read that at least some people did have a good time at botcon and thought positively of it. Though a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing, I must say it was an overall positive experience for me.
