I was curious if anyone knew if there was a way to tell if Botcon Arcee from 2001 comes with the voice chip by looking at the box.
I'm thinking hard about getting one of these figures and trying to decide if it's worth the cash, and extra a voice chip would no doubt bring.

 

the way I knew my botcon arcee had the voice chip. was because basically the box was misb sealed. everytime light & movement hit the box. the toy would rattle off all the voice phrases non-stop.

 

Im a big arcee fan and the mold used is awesome so Im kind of watching eBay, most prices are buy it now over $200 but some are below. Ive got a bit of cash in paypal so considering it or Id just go down to local store, they've got one for $150. Id like the voice chip but not sure if its worth the extra hassle it could be.

 

IMO,any time a actual voice actor from the Transformers cartoon series. has his/her voice on a voice chip on a TF toy. I say it's a must buy. because it makes that toy just the more special.

example: the beastmachines/RID supreme sized optimus primal. It was already a awesome mold. what enhanced the toy further,was hearing gary chalks voice on the voice chip. to me that is just priceless.

hunting down those rare & precious Botcon toys on ebay can be a pain at times.

because the prices never seem to go down. the bidding wars are fierce & most of the time the prices start off at a beyond high price.

I'm trying to buy botcon cyclonus & botcon alpha trion on ebay.

I lost a few bidding wars on ebay already trying to get a botcon cyclonus.

botcon alpha trion is way out of my price range. the toy starts off most of the time at $150+

at the very least there's hope for me winning a botcon cyclonus. as the bidding wars I lost on ebay were around $52 to $61.00

 

Im not the type to go after rare just because it's rare. If it's a favorite character of mine or just an awesome piece that's more of a draw from me. I buy what I like, not just because it's rare.
The BW Transmetals Black Arachnia Mold is awesome, I love the repaint for Arcee and just always been a fan of Arcee. Something about a fembot that can turn your spark to ash thats awesome.
Problem is Im not sure if there's a way to tell by simply looking at the box. Not everyone on eBay may know exactly what they have and know that not all of the figures CAME with the voice chip. Im even only going after this figure(if I decide to) because I came across some extra cash thanks to selling some older cell phones.
