That's on-brand for Botcon, exploiting TF fans. Overpriced sub-quality toys, over-priced hotels, obvious price gorging on shipping. Now with Selects providing great toys they could never achieve, and TFcon providing the great experience at fair prices they never offered, I'm not surprised Pete and gang could be vigorously investigating every opportunity to make money they can't find through fairer means.

No wonder they have been so secretive about the behind the scenes people for so long even after people voiced their concerns, and explains why they will never be 100% honest about this.

I've pieced together which dealer you're talking about, and that man is FAR from crooked. He would never knowingly deceive someone, he's not that kind of a person.

Please elaborate, were these items sealed in box items or loose items? It can be very hard to spot a fake sometimes. Even AFA has been fooled by KO's, plenty of graded KO's out there. Your encounter was 2010-2012, the community has learned a lot more about KO's since then. www.highendtfs.com

It appears the hotel block under the Botcon rate is already sold out, at least the site is saying it's unavailable. A two-day sell-through doesn't sound like a bomb to me, it sounds like the biggest convention of the year (and I hope they add more rooms).

It'd be inconceivable to me if they didn't open a new block, two days isn't enough time for people to even find out the rate was live, let alone actually book anything... I'm torn between hoping for more rooms at the Hilton and hoping they'll open a block at the Marriott across the street where I have a rewards membership... would love to use some points to help pay for it, even if we have to walk a bit further.

 

Main problem is that it's spread throughout transformers twitter and here. I get not liking a convention or the views of one of the organizers, but it's not hard to just ignore the convention.
